Sorry if this is in the wrong area, but not sure where to put it but it is related to my use of the GN. So after getting my GN, I finally decided to get tapatalk instead of using the mobile forum version of android central as I had on my DInc and Thunderbolt. In all honesty, although tapatalk is wonderful at subscribing to many forums, the M. version of android forums seems to give so much more information on a page and being able to scroll down all the replies vs going page by page tediously through each thread. It also seems so much faster through the mobile web version. Am I missing something or is tapatalk really for the heavy forum user who subscribes to multiple forums? Try loading the verizon galaxy nexus forum on tapatalk and the on the mobile website version. Am I doing something wrong or is the mobile version faster and clearer.

I just joined but I see alot of poeple using tapatalk. I really want to know what's so great about it. I'm doing fine with the mobile version too. Plus it's free. Anything that I have to pay for I would love to try out for free. I don't know if there is an ad supported tapatalk or free 7 day trial or something.

If anyone wants to try out tapatalk without paying go to getjar.com and download their app from their website. Under the gold star android apps should be tapatalk for free. This is how I got it last month when the gnex was released. Should still be there.

Ya, it's a horribly, horribly designed site and app. The ONLY reason I even tell people to check it out is Tapatalk and Pixel Office for free. Keep trying to download the app, eventually it will work. I've also had luck going to the desktop site first and getting the quick download code, then DLing it on the Nexus.
GetJar is probably the worst app Ive ever used

But for xda website, there is no mobile version. Also another gaming forum i visit doesnt have mobile version.
Therefore i use tapatalk for most of the forums.

Only thing to take note on with stuff from GetJar is I have found out you can't seem to receive updates on these apps offered through GetJar for free when using the Market to update them.
Seems like you have to wait for GetJar to update the app since it was received through them...
I found this out with Beautiful Widgets... Got it free via Getjar but can't receive the latest update on the Market for BW...
Yep, it's like a terrible version of the Amazon market. Honestly, it's probably worth the 3 bux to not have to deal with GetJar
I like using Tapatalk for having quick access to multiple boards. Also, being able to upload photos right from the app is nice.

Yeah $3 isn't going to break the bank of me. But I've paid for crap apps in the past. Don't want to repeat it. But I haven't heard anything too terrible about tapatalk. Well I'm going to try to unlock and root my GNex tonight. If I'm successful I'll probably get tapatalk. I see myself asking some questions that only the great people here at AC can answer in the near future.
I agree Tapatalk doesn't show as much info (such as Likes), but as someone else said I like the white text on black background.
Also I use the widget so it's quick access for me. I don't even use all of the notification or subscription settings, but it's still a great app for me.

I don't use the widget, but I do have shortcuts set. It's super handy to create your shortcuts, then throw them all in the same folder.

I stopped developing the mobile skin because I thought everyone in this forum was using Tapatalk. The button spacing is on my list of things to fix though.

I would like to see a black mobile version. Although I have purchased Tapatalk, I prefer the mobile version of AC!

Ok, I went to the Getjar site, got the code for my phone, and downloaded what I thought would be Tapatalk to my Nexus. But when I actually look at the file on my phone, it says: "GetJar.apk" with a file size of 123kb.
Is this Tapatalk, or is it the GetJar App??
