Taskbar clock freezes

I have a Blu R1 HD running Android 6.0. I've had it over a year.

Lately, and occassionaly, the clock in the taskbar freezes and no longer shows the correct time. The clock on the homescreen is fine. I've tried changing time settings but the problem keeps returning.

Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks.

The phone has 1GB of RAM and a fairly slow processor for today's apps. If you use the Home button to get out of apps, you're leaving them running, and that slows the phone. Try using the Back button or the "Exit" or "Quit" choices on the app menus. If the phone is busy running a few apps it won't update the clock in the task bar. (The clock on the home screen is an app - it gets priority.)

My phone has 2GB of RAM and even when I close all apps the clock still won't update.
