***Tasker Geeks....Shows us your NOTE 4 Automatons here**

Re: ***Tasker Geeks....Shows us ur NOTE 4 Automatons here**

You guys have done it again! I was just wondering how I could get my phone to 'recognize' I was home and turn on my Wifi, and there is my answer--Tasker. THIS is why I love this site!

Hey is there anyone that is willing, able, motivated & trustworthy enough to either revamp this thread or start a new one so that all of us can have a lot more form & function/organization for all of these great ''tasks", for example have a permanent page that stays at the beginning of the thread & is consistently updated every time someone posts a new & different ''task" to use in "Tasker" with two different section/parts separating the particular ''tasks" by 1st "Not Needing To Be Rooted To Use The ''task" In "Tasker" & 2nd "Needs To Be Rooted To Use The ''task"? Or have still the two separate columns but the 2nd could contain all of the "tasks" that have any kind of prerequisites to be able to use them? I think that if someone diligent & reliable enough could make that happen, then it would without doubt become so much easier for all "Tasker" current users or those that are just on the edge about buying the app not to mention it would greatly reduce the entire length of the thread "by eliminating so many questions", there would be no need to have to scroll/scan through the entire thread to ensure they have seen every viable "task" they could choose from that they very possibly haven't even heard of.

For all that post please include whether or not the "task" your informing us all of that you personally use, have used or have found "from a source _____?making sure it does in fact work to the best of your knowledge" stating the source & if there are any prerequisites to using it successfully, so that whomever if anyone is able to properly categorize it & inform anyone of anything the may need to use it, also include what version android your using "if that matters" along with the previously stated "whether your rooted or not".

Sorry I'd be more than willing to do this to keep all informed that are interested, but I'm unsure of how to not make/ design such form but how I'd be able to make it consistently remain at the beginning of the thread. Thank you to all that contribute or choose to take on this desperately needed roll of organization or whomever could tell me how to do this, cuz I have accumulated quite a few "tasks" non needing root & storing them in an Excel spreadsheet to organize them all making it streamlined for searching by paraphrasing what exactly they each do with descriptions immediately following & then instructions on how to implement each one for use. Thanks TOM

Should probably make this a "Sticky" thread so that it can constantly be Updated and we can post all Tasker tips and tricks here !

Not just what you did but show the steps or share the file, that will be nice also...

Does anyone have any idea how to use Tasker to turn off LTE when battery starts running low? I don't want to lose connectivity, but I'm ok with 3g below, say, 30%.

Re: ***Tasker Geeks....Shows us ur NOTE 4 Automatons here**

So some 1 help me make this profile:

I want the system sounds to be turned off when I am on a call...I know I can turn them off altogether in the phone settings, but i specifically wanted to turn them off during a phone call...tht way when i am on speaker phone and doing something on my phone, it isn't irritating.

So I went to State --> Phone --> call and selected incoming
Created a new profile which was Audio --> system sounds --> off!

tested it and it works fine during the phone call...but now the system sounds have been turned off even THOUGH i am not a call! why is that?

Because your profile turned them off, that's why. You would need another profile to turn them back on when the phone call ends, not sure how you can do that.

I think i have to add a exit task...I did that..seems to work!

Can some one come up with this profile....?

Turn down brightness when I am @ home and make the brightness display to Auto when I am NOT @ home. I am guessing this would somehow be related to my home wifi, i tried setting it up but didn't work out for me !

Re: ***Tasker Geeks....Shows us ur NOTE 4 Automatons here**

Wish theres a basic free version of Tasker so we can try it out, then buy later... with more features

Since I'm on the Verizon consumer note 4, I've had to make some profiles that work around not having root. I have to use Auto Input, but I've made a profile to turn on GPS when opening apps that need GPS on, and I've made a task that can toggle airplane mode.

I've also got a new smartwatch (zenwatch) so I've got it all set up so that via voice command, I can open my garage door as I drive into my neighborhood, just by talking to my watch!

I also have some programming so that if my smartwatch OR home wifi is connected to my phone, it disables the lockscreen, but when BOTH are not connected (at work and I walk away from my phone), the lockscreen is enabled (required some variable trickery, but got it to work after some trial and error).

I have profiles that change the keyboard when the s pen is in use, or if I flip my screen down, just toggling my 2 most used keyboards back and forth (2 hand vs 1 hand typing).

thats a great one.!

I track my workouts with Google calendar! I have a counter for each of my most common workouts. My home screen shortcuts put an entry into my calendar for the time I usually dedicate to each workout and puts how many times I have done that workout in the description. Finally it tells me I'm done with the built in robo voice when my time is up.
