Tempered glass screen protector recommendation.

Anyone got a good glass screen protector they would recommend. .

I have gone through 2 tempered glass screens, for the second one I paid $39AU and all has been a waste of money. I don't believe anymore in the efficiency of tempered glass on curved screens. The tempered glass after a few days let dust in at the top edge and affected the sensitivity of the screen very badly. I have opted for a film screen which is a lot better. Glass screen was perfect on the flat screen of my ex note 5, but on curved screen, it started to make me hate my phone.

Kind of off the subject of glass, but I have been using Ghost Armor on my last few phones, and it has great protection, and yes, they apply it at the kiosk. Warranty is amazing and I have always been able to sell my phones afterwards as pristine condition. I am a heavy user and have dropped my phones on more than one occasion.lol

I got the tempered Glass invisible shield from Zagg. It was expensive, but they have a lifetime warranty for scratches and cracks

I-blason seems to be the best for me right now. Screen sensitivity seems to be ok but texting some missed letters once in awhile. But I did that before. My note took about a 5 foot fall almost at the bottom of an escalator and not a scratch. I think I'll keep this setup. It covers front and back completely. I had Yootech screen protectors but after 1 month peeling with the Spigen Tough Armor case.
Decided the I-Blason method.
My wife's note 8 has the
Whitestone Dome screen protection. My daughter's note 8 was exchanged recently for a new device because of a manufacturer issue. I just delivered her phone to yesterday with an I-blason case, so far she's happy happy.
With three notes 8's I get to experience with different setups.
I have another box of the Whitestone Dome, that's next up for my phone.
Any suggestion????

The i-blason definitely worked well for me.
I had no issues with it at all until I used a thin case which pushed the screen protector up.

I have the Zagg curved HD as well. No issues aside from the added glare outdoors. And it is also a fingerprints magnet.

It sounds crazy. But I was going to buy the zag glass one last night at best buy. The lady at the counter took out her note 8 and said do not get it. Soo many people return them. She said she even returned hers. She had a tech 21 film one on her phone.

I for now. At Five Below got an Xtreme indestructible screen protector. Box claims better than tempered glass.

Honestly for $5.00 it works. It's smooth like the glass ones. until there is a decent affordable solution. This might work for now. At least to protect from scratches and minor drops.
My Clear Tech 21 case seems to be a decent case for protection and the Five Below store brand film isn't lifting up with that case.

Anyone got a good glass screen protector they would recommend. I've tried a few without success, either experienced issues with responsiveness or the glass won't fit correctly. Decided to rock this without a screen protector but I feel the gods will make me regret that decision one day.

Just get Whitestone Dome - and you won't regret it. It's $50, but your phone is $1000, so it's worth it to keep it scratch free. I've spent over $50 on garbage tempered glass screen protectors before I discovered Whitestone Dome. I bought a couple at $35 on ebay (replacement kits since I already have the uv light) just to have it in case I need to replace the one I have on. You are welcome 😜

You guys make such a compelling argument. I am by no means an expert with installing a screen protector. How would you guys rate the installation in the scale of difficulty. I can't imagine fubaring it and having to lose out on 50 dollars.

Just watch an instructional video carefully (twice if necessary), follow directions, and it's a 10 minutes project... Just make sure to follow everything... You get 2 glue containers, so if you mess up somehow, you can rinse off the protector, and reapply (I've done it once)

What concerns me about Whitestone Dome is the number of reviews that said the install went perfect and the screen was great, but it cracked or lifted within a few weeks. Lots of people said the screen cracked within a few weeks after either a minor drop, or no drop at all.

I've also read those exact reviews. I just ended up getting a screen protector and bought the Samsung premium plan for added peace of mind. Has anyone have direct experience with Samsung premium protection? Is the process pretty easy?

I dropped mine on the floor in the gym with my arm band/pouch over it, and it cracked as well... I just keep better care, and I've had it on since launch of the phone - does protect the screen though

I had my Zagg screen protector installed at BB over a month ago and I couldn’t be happier.

I like my Supcase Unicorn Beetle case and their glass protector. Buttons are raised enough to feel easily, slim case, has survived several drops already. Bodyguards case also good, but harder to feel the flush buttons.

There are many options as far as tempered glass protectors. I am not sure why there is such a diversity of opinions with each of these. My gut feeling is that some of these aren't as easy to install as they appear to be.

I have a Zagg screen protector which is an edge only adherent type. I have had mine on for 2 months with none of the dust under the edges or on the screen that some people complain about. Screen responsiveness is great.

Why is my experience different from those that complain? I think because I had mine installed by a Verizon representative who knew what he was doing. The other representatives in the store felt uncomfortable installing protectors on phones with curved edges and deferred to this one guy. He told me that a lot can go wrong with what appears to be a simple procedure. For example, if the edges of the protector aren't pressed around far enough, the flat portion of the protector will not be flush enough against the screen. This will result in screen response problems and a gap at the top and bottom which will allow dust to get under the protector.

So my recommendation, regardless of the protector you select, is to get someone, who is an expert, do the installation for you.

How do you find that person? Just ask who in the store has worked there the longest and who enjoys installing these protectors. He won't be enjoying his work if people keep coming back and complain about his work.

Ditto!

There are endless posts on this topic. My summary would be this:

- Affordable glass protectors are basically all the same: they have adhesive on the edges, they don't stay on, fuzz/debris collects along the edges and look horrible, touch sensitivity is poor - especially at the edges, and the ratings on Amazon are typically horrible for a good reason.

- There is a very expensive option that some owners swear by - and that's really great for them. However, there are many owners that report bad experiences for a number of reasons and importantly, the company does not provide refunds or free replacements, causing some owners to pay north of $100 for repeat applications.

- Film can work for some, but all film products have the same drawbacks - they don't work as well with the stylus, have orange peel and don't protect as well.

So, pick your poison. Film has pretty good reviews, but it won't get any better - glass may. I think it's generally agreed here that there's yet to be a glass solution that works for even "most" buyers. We are all waiting for a generally-accepted product for the N8.

Billy, I think "Amazon" is the key - people are probably buying and installing (unsuccessfully attempting to) themselves! I had my AT&T Rep install mine and my Unicorn Beetle Pro case (I removed the Unicorn clear plastic protector) fit perfectly over it. It's been on since September 15th and its still clear, bonded, scratch free and no dust build up on the edges as some report! I'm very happy with my Zagg!

Very happy for everyone that finds Zagg and other N8 glass protectors to their liking.

As with many people here, I've been installing screen protectors perfectly for years/years and it's just a reach for me - and maybe it's my own shortsightedness - that Zagg products require such specialized and expert installation techniques that only a few people in any zipcode have been able to master that skill. No one else is capable. And, everyone who buys Zagg on Amazon are completely unable to install this product. Those ratings are truly awful.

But let's say all of that is completely true, and I am totally wrong. I'd still call it an unacceptable product if the thousands/thousands of Zagg buyers need to funnel into locations where there's a single person that has mastered the specialized craft of installing one specific screen protector.

For me, it's just doesn't feel like reality. And if it is, Zagg should license installation to the few specialists in any one region who can install it correctly.

I'll just wait for a product that works for the majority of people that buy it.

I have a Zagg that I installed myself and have had no major issues. Zagg has a great guarantee. My first one had a slight rainbow haze under the screen protector that would come and go. I emailed them and they sent me a free replacement at no cost whatsoever. The new one installed perfectly but I unfortunately dropped my phone and the screen protector cracked (but no damage to the phone). I put in a warranty claim and got another new one for $9.99 shipping and handling. The newest one has been installed for 2 weeks and I have no issues at all. The installation for Zagg is really quite easy!!!
And I have had no screen sensitivity issues at all with all three Zaggs.
