**Testing** Make your S8 S8+ FASTER

what does turning on the hardware rendering in 2d do though for the phone?

Can't say as though I know, though, like animations, I've not worried about this sort of thing anymore. If something like a S8, or G6, or Pixel or 6P... To people looking to 'speed up' their S8 (these are all placebos mostly) if those phones aren't fast enough for you.... well, my friend, you need to put the phone down, go find a nice quiet place and meditate before you give yourself a stroke. :)

Yeah I went back into the settings, and left mine stock.

Here's an interesting question though, when I received a text message, my lock screen lights up for a couple of seconds, then goes out and AOD kicks in. When I receive any other type of notification, that doesn't happen. Only AOD lights up. Not a big deal at all, I was just wondering.

You know what sir you're absolutely right with your comment; they're all os based placebo effects.

Well, SMS is a slightly different case... Before we posted on Snapchat, we sent texts. Those come through an entirely different system than anything from a network connection. Maybe that's the root cause of that.

Most frequenting an android webboard you guys will know about animation scale.
That is why i stressed about the 2d gpu rendering.

Like many samsung phones, people will experience different performance. Some will say they have lag some will say they don't. With so many options in samsung phones microstuttering happens. When I got my S8 phone it was slower than my customized s7 and slower in OS operation than my pixel.

I have it now set up where my s8 runs faster than my pixel not in only app loading speed but OS operation.
We can be negative nancys and not even attempt to change a setting that only takes a few seconds to enjoy any improvements.

Os operation is done by your small cores in the s8 which are basically a53's when you offload that work to your GPU it is running at a much faster speed. Try opening any app like youtube after my suggestion and most will see huge improvements. I have not seen any significant battery loses as i am still holding a good 8-9 hours of screen on time.
