Tethering not working !!Unlocked At&t phone but using it w/ T-Mobile

I have an unlocked At&t Note 2 but I am currently using it with T-mobile, when I try to turn on the mobile hotspot it immediately turns off and tells me "Mobile Data is not available or Invalid SIM". My phone is currently running 4.3 Jelly Bean and I do not want to root it.

Do you have tethering/hotspot enabled on your plan? If not, maybe try something like Foxfi.

Yes I have tethering/hotspot in my plan... when i had my phone running 4.1.2 i had the same message but FoxFi fixed the problem, but since i updated to 4.3 not even FoxFi has worked.

I may be wrong but didn't 4.3 break that ability ? Idk if there is a workaround. You can check on xda.

Hey fellas. New to the site but my problem brought me here. I have a similar problem to this. I'm actually looking into updating to 4.3. Currently have a at&t note 2 but its unlock cause I'm running t mobile sim card. How do I update!? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

I'm in kinda the same situation....have an AT&T Galaxy S5 running on a T-Mobile sim. While I do have tethering allowed by TMo can't get it to work on Kit Kat......anyone have any suggestions?

Same problem here with rooted AT&T Note 3 4.4.2 on T-Mobile.
