Text message help...

When I get texts from people on iphone, randomly, instead of getting the full text, I will get these weird characters then some emoticons. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Hmm, not sure. Have you asked your carrier about this?

Since it is some users (not all), could it be those users have modified their unicode settings? While the average user may not know how to check, if you had 2 friends (1 works, 1 does not), have them each report their unicode settings and then assuming they are different as the non working one to change.
