Text Message Issue

I am not sire if it is an issue on my end or not, but I can not get text messages from one of my friends. Every time I get a text message from him it says it could not download. He has a Galaxy S7. Has anybody else seen this issue before?

What cell service do you use, what messaging app are you using. Is he sending them as an SMS or MMS?

I was having the same issue. If you're on both on AT&T, I've noticed it has to do with advanced messaging being turned on on the sender's phone. The best fix I found is using a different sms app.

I actually just got this fixed today. Turns out the sender's phone hasn't connected properly to the networks towers within the last 2 days which is when I happened to get my Pixel and a restart of their phone fixed it. So it wasn't an issue with my Pixel.
I was on the phone with AT&T tech support today and let them know it was from one particular number and since they were also on AT&T they looked into their number and that's what they found.
It was also a Galaxy S7.

Turns out it was the stupid Advanced Messaging feature on the sender's phone. They turned it off and now its 100% working

Also it turns out a lot of people are experiencing this issue over on the AT&T forums.

Figured. And I just tried going back to the default messenger and it seems to be working just fine now.

I'm having SMS issues as well. I'll open up the app (I've done this with the default app and the VZW Messages+ app) and I'll suddenly get a rush of messages, many of which arrived hours ago.

It's not happening to all messages and these are from users of both iPhone and Android phones. Happens in groups and individual messages.

Any ideas?

That happened to me last night. Not sure what is going on with Google Messenger.
