text messages htc/handcent

I have installed Handcent on my Inspire .. The problem I'm having is getting it to sync up with the HTC message..
Now I'm getting two message boxs show up at the very top of the phone..


I've removed the standard HTC widget off the home screen and have the Handcent widget..

Also will the handcent widget show the number of messages recieved.. ie like my gmail does..


Fingers crossed what I'm trying will work ..

open the stock messanger , from the list of messages hit the menu button>settings>uncheck notifications

What? I can't comprehend your question.

he is saying he is getting 2 notifications when he recieves a text because he is running handcent and stock messanger

For me, the Handcent notification in the notifications bar always shows the number of unread messages I have, when I have unread messages. The widget seems to have options to display a few different things. I'd say just play with it - I don't usually let my unread messages stack up more than one or two, so I can't really test it out for you.

Go to your htc messages and go to the settings to turn off notifications. That way only handcent notifications will only show up.
