Text messaging goes to top of convo while typing

Here's an annoying quirk with my 2.2 Incredible:

Occasionally when I am typing a text in the OEM ap, the phone suddenly/instantly scrolls to the top of the conversation. I can keep typing, but I can't see what I am typing and now have to scroll all the way to the bottom to get to the text entry area, which is annoying since I may have 100+ messages with that contact.

Any ideas how to stop this?

no idea. believes its a glitch after the froyo update. happens to me as well.

Try using Handcent from the market. Running it on 2.2 and don't have any problems. Plus I think it's a much more appealing SMS/MMS app than the OEM that comes with the standard OS.

Interesting to hear someone else has the problem too. It sure is annoying.

I don't really care to use an aftermarket ap if I don't have to. The factory one works well for me, if I can get this fixed.

I have the same issue, tried several different keyboards including vlingo, handcent, stock, and swipe . Every so often it does this. I send around 20-50 text a day and it happens probably twice a day or so. Not a big issue as I have my text limit set to 25 so its not a long scroll back.

Just hit the search button then back out of it and it will bring you back to the bottom

I will try that next time, I sure hope it works.

The problem seems to have gone away. The search tip worked most of the time, but I haven't had to use it much at all lately.
