That's because the SMS/MMS protocol can't handle large files. You either need to find an alternate messaging protocol (Hangouts, Whatsapp, Telegram) or put the file somewhere on shared cloud storage and send her the link to it.

Hit the share button and is the link sharing. You can send up to 2gb each day to any phone it email.

I like to use Facebook Messenger for sending pictures.

No file restriction and it's free as opposed to mms which costs to send in the UK.
