Texts and calls appearing out of order

I know that this has happened to other Android users, but I'm hoping the Maxx folks here have a better solution. My texts (I'm using the stock app due to conflicts with Motorola Assist) are appearing out of order in my inbox. Until recently, the most recent text was at the top. In addition, within a particular text thread with a recipient, the texts are not showing up in the right order, and texts that I sent just days ago are dated in the future. In addition, calls made a day or so ago are listed as being made in the future, and are therefore showing up at the top of my outgoing/incoming/all call lists within the stock dialer app. Perhaps not coincidentally, the other morning my phone was set to a bizarre date, and a time zone of some Pacific island. I fixed that by RE-selecting "automatic" for the device time option, and choosing (again) my time zone. I expect there is a connection. I have found a temporary work around (I deleted all calls and texts that appear to have been made in the future.) Any suggestions?

Try pulling the sim card. That seemed to fix the problem for me.
