The 4.4.3 Did This To My Nexus 5. Does Anyone Know Why?

Before 4.4.3 update:

After 4.4.3

The gradation is obvious, but there also seems to be a resolution improvement. Any thoughts on why?

Does the wallpaper exceed the screen's resolution? Over the years, different apps I've tried varied in how they handle wallpaper placements.

the wallpaper sliding option might have changed. Does the background image slide as well? And maybe as well as before the update?

I notice the fonts are smaller now in some apps with 4.4.3. I like small fonts anyway as I am nearsighted.

Thank you for your reply. I do not know the wallpaper resolution. It is iPhone 5c wallpaper that was part of an app I downloaded. I have the same wallpaper on my iPhone 4s, but being designed for a 4 inch screen the resolution always looked different. I don't know why the update changed that and I do think it looks better, I just don't understand why the update changed the apparent resolution. I have seen nothing in the comments about the new update which would explain it.

Thanks I agree, it does look better.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't know that was an option. This particular wallpaper never did that. A different wallpaper on my tablet will do that, if you're referring to the wallpaper sliding at a different rate while you swipe.

That's interesting. I don't think I've seen reports of screen changes as a result of the update - as long as you are happy then I guess it's a good thing :).

When you initially placed that wallpaper (prior to 4.4.3), do you remember if you cropped it? I think you can crop if it's an image you downloaded. If so, maybe it reverted to full size when you updated.

Please excuse any typos or autocorrect derps.

Looks like one is simply the same image but zoomed in/cropped. I'm sure you can get it back to how it was.
