First noticeable thing....using the exact same charger, the pixel 2 charger, the NOTE 8 charges faster. Plus it has wireless charging.

Is that not because Google has designed it whereby the 2xl charges quickly to about 80% then slows it down so as not to stress the battery and prolong its life?

note 8 charges faster and it needs to because the battery doesnt last as long

I think this is a very hard thing. If I didn't have a pixel, the note would be fine. If I didn't have a Note, the pixel would be fine. We each have preferences and are drawn to devices that meet those preferences. If you prefer lots of choices, the note is obviously the better choice. If you prefer simple, then the Pixel is a good choice. Each of the things we do in a single day have an impact on our choices. I love the pixel device. I also love the note. I did a test on Thursday. I took a pic with each phone, side by side, of an indian fellow. The NOTE pic was colorful and vibrant. The pixel pic was not as vibrant. But, the pixel pic represented, almost exactly, the entire color sprectrum of the pic. The skin tone of the pixel was exact. On the note it was too vibrant and the wrong color. Same for the clothes and the walls around him. In this case, the NOTE was not realistic. And the pic of Taui was not correct. But, some people prefer this. With live scenary, I do not. With stills pics, art and such, I do. In those cases, the note is the better camera....with my preferences.

The Pixel will be my driver. But the note will not go away. The iPhone 8+ is going away. Its really not in the same class as these other phones. Its a good phone, yes. but...not quite in the same class.

You're right: the Pixel 2 XL and Note 8 are very good phones. Hard to choose between the two, for sure!

my wiefe has 8 plus, everytime i pick it up, it makes me love my my pixel 2 XL more

there is nothing about apple i like, i hate itunes, i hate 1 button, i hate the home screen clock is tiny and you cant change anything

After using the 8 plus, I saw more pluses with iPhones than I thought I would. iOS 11 would be awesome if it wasn't so buggy. The speakers excellent and the camera stands up very well next to the pixel 2 XL. One thing people don't talk about is the 4 led flash system. It works wonders for night photos and was essential to capturing some fantastic pictures on Halloween night.
But yeah, iOS is a walled garden and besides, all my apps were Google apps. . The 8 plus is also very wide. It feels and looks strange compared to 2017 design standards.
