The Coronavirus Maze-How are we navigating it today?

You really believe that thinking about using a disinfectant cleaner like Lysol to cleanse inside the body is something a leader of a country should suggest?

One last time, he never suggested anyone do anything of the sort.

You really believe that thinking about using a disinfectant cleaner like Lysol to cleanse inside the body is something a leader of a country should suggest? That is not thinking outside the box, that is stupidity. One thing you are correct about, we disagree.

We will make it through this crisis despite lack of leadership. I hope we learn from our mistakes and become a better world because of it.
That's not what he said. He was using it as an example that maybe we could come up with something that could kill it in the same fashion.

You’re reaching. He has zero medical experience. He should not be speaking about it at all.

I'm not reaching. No one said he had any medical experience. He was presenting his thoughts. You can formulate your own opinion but he can say whatever he wants on his stage.

Doesn't mean I agree with him. The biggest problem we have is that the people who support him will defend him to the death and the people who hate him will look for things that aren't there.

He suggested researching it. Like you said, read the transcript.

That's pretty much what I said. It was you and others that claimed he suggested we should inject something like Lysol. At worst, he may have meant to say antiseptic, but that still doesn't change the fact that researching something doesn't mean we should actually do it. Also, from the article/transcript I linked above, he further clarified his statement (which the majority of news articles are omitting). So even if it was a misstatement, it was corrected on the spot, so this shouldn't be news in the first place.Screenshots_2020-04-28-14-05-56.jpeg

You are correct with how divisive the nation is. What is the common factor between both sides? He says these things because that’s what he wants, division. His side against the “other” side. This isn’t a TV show. This isn’t about him but about our nation. This isn’t about gaining votes. It’s about people. I don’t know how to be more clear.

It “has an affect on a stationary object”, like a countertop? So it “may” work on humans?

Look, I know you will defend him to the end, and this thankfully will end some day. I mean no disrespect towards you but I have no respect for someone who goes in front of the nation and says such things. I also have no respect for someone who calls the media names, women names, politicians names, world leaders names, etc. I’ll leave it at that and let you and others continue the conversation.

I'm not defending him. Heck, I didn't even vote for him, for the reasons you mentioned at the end of your post. I hate some of the language he uses.

What I am defending is having his words recognized for what they are and not how his critics want us to believe.

This is a perfect example of why I normally avoid these topics.

I will defend him.

I voted for him.

Look at your stocks.

The problem is the media.
The problem for 3 yrs has been the media.
The media is not held accountable for anything they do or say.

The media has been against him since day one.
So has the whole system.

I've been waiting for a comment like this to be posted.

Ah yes, the 'system'...

Also, "not accountable for anything they do or say" could be used to describe Trump as well as the media.

Anyone saw what happened in New York last night? (the mass gathering funeral with de Blasio's warning)

I have no sympathy for people that fall ill to the virus if they are the ones not wearing masks and protesting

You can wear a mask.
But if you touch something..you can get it.

People touch everything.
Door handles.
Doors..
Don't blame it on people.

Its a virus that we have never had .

The government is fighting to find a cure for it.

I don't have a immune system because of leukemia.

So you going to blame me if I catch corona virus.

My son has had double Pneumonia, he can catch it easy too.

I don't understand your thinking.

My wife has lupus. She has a compromised immune system. She always wears a mask and gloves when she goes out

The chance of you catching it from touching something is much, much lower than direct transmission from droplets. It's good to wash your hands but social distancing and wearing a mask are key.

How many people you see wear a mask.
That is for hospital personnel.
I was in the house a month ago.
Couldn't leave my room .
To go get a MRI..
They had to put a yellow gown on me..mask and gloves..
They didn't allow me to walk on the floor.
As soon as I came back.
Everything came off and went in the garage can by the door.

With the stem cell placement i had.
They destroyed my immune system.

I have been out of remission for 7 months.

When it comes to masks, it depends. Any strip of cloth covering your face could constitute a mask, but that doesn't make it effective. That's why I don't care about places requiring them (I won't go in) or if others wear them in public. You can't get an effective mask anywhere because they were all going to medical personal and first responders. That's understandable, but means the general public is left to use whatever they can cobble together, and there's no way to tell if what they have on is actually stopping the virus if they have it. Even if it stops 50% of the viral agents, that still leaves way more than enough to infect others, thus not an effective means of blocking it.

Do what you can, but no one should assume something like a bandana or basic dust mask is going to be effective at blocking transmission.
