The Defender case for the S8 Plus

I looked at the Otterbox website at the Defender case for the S8 Plus and the design looks just like the S7 Edge with the ultra thick screen protector.

While this protector for my Edge fits VERY tight and no air gaps to attract dirt, it cuts down on the responsiveness and is a bit hazy.

Also due to the design of the case you can't just remove the built in protector as it makes the phone loose in the case.

I think I will stay away from the Defender this time.

Just ordered a Caseology defender style case

I just ordered this caseology case. It is a new case they make, basically their defender style case. Just under 20 bucks too on sale. Looks better than a Supcase and more heavy duty too! If the Defender doesn't have that thick screen protector like the S7 edge one has, I might buy that once I can see it in stores but this case should do for now.

I'm supposed to get it Sunday and will let everyone know what I think of it

I have had a Defender case for all my smartphones. I just ordered a customized Defender case with Cobalt Blue inner layer and Black outer layer which should go well with the Midnight Blue GS8 as soon as I am able to order it on a two year contract.

I didnt order cases yet. T-Mobile estimates shipping by 4.21 but I preordered the note 7 when it came out and it arrived to me I think 2 days before stores had available stock, so will see

Yes, but with the glass build, edges, you must have a good protective case!

I like the Iblason Armorbox for the S8, S8 plus also. Looks similar to an s7 edge defender case minus screen protector. I might get that when it goes on sale too!

I got the case today. It's an alright case, but not as heavy duty as I thought it would be. It will get the job done until the I-Blason armorbox is out, Poetic Revolution is out and until I can see what type of screen protector the Defender will have.

I really like the looks of the I-Blason Armorbox though if I don't like the Defender.

I'd say protection wise this caseology case is on par with the Unicorn Beetle or slightly below it. Will do the job for now but won't be my daily driver once I get a more heavy duty case.

The Defender should be here today but unfortunately I still have to wait until April 21st for the GS7.

Sams has the S8 Defender in stock. Has no screen protector

I saw just at Sams and they have the Defender for the S8 but it does not have the built in screen protector. It says on the package without screen protector. Not sure if they're making two versions but after the complaints about the S7 edge protector maybe they decided to leave it off.

Anyway they had about 10 of them on the shelf but no price on it.

They did not have the S8 Plus Defender though. From the looks of it it might not be out right away since amazon doesn't have it in stock as well. I would have bought it today if it didn't include the built in protector.

I also held the 2 phones and I'm glad I went with the s8 Plus. The regular S8 is too small even the Plus is the min I want in an overall size of a phone.

My local best buy on the website for each color now says fewer than 3 in stock and can pick up tomorrow. I'm debating and waiting to see if Sams gets them in or if Amazon does and the price lowers and then go in person to price match.

What should I do? Will these be hard to get when it comes out or will all the carriers have the defender in you think? I just don't want to pay 60 bucks and doesn't even have screen protector when the I Blason Armorbox looks very similar to it and tons cheaper.

Amazon has a couple different colors in stock for it, but not black. I will call best buy and see if they actually have it and if not will order off Amazon with Prime then.

Just bought it at Best Buy. $64 with tax. It doesn't have the built in screen protector. The case is fine but 60 bucks is Grossly overpriced for the case. I'd say more like $30 would be better.

I got two cases now so only thing left is maybe buy a fast wireless charger since I'm using the 2015 Samsung charging disk that came out for the S6. then again I charge overnight so I don't really care if it's fast charging or not.

They only had two cases for each of the 3 colors though. I wonder why they don't have many cases. They will sell out fast by release day.

I did notice a lot of empty spaces on the shelves making room for the S8 cases. Maybe they will get more in. However my only local best buy doesn't carry a lot of stuff in stock when I need it.

Bulk isn't too bad, looks similar to the S7 edge defender design, however the build quality seems far cheaper compared to the S7 edge and S7 one.

IMO take a good look at the i Blason Armorbox as it has a similar design and far cheaper. Usually about 2 months after the phone is out the price should drop like a rock on Amazon for it.

Sams Club is another place to buy otterbox for the same price or cheaper than Amazon. They had the S8 Defender out for sale but didn't have price tags on it. They must have literally just got it in. They didn't have the S8 Plus cases yet, Just s8 defenders.
