looking on the VZW website, the blue ones are showing up with a ship date of 7/11, but the white ones are not.

i wonder if the folks getting the backordered email had pre-ordered white models.

I was worried about my order from the beginning since I still use a line on my parent's plan (spinning it off is too much trouble, and more expensive). Just in case, I called Amex and put my parent's address (technically the billing address for this order) in as an alternate address. I explained the situation to the Amex rep and she said it should go through fine, so we'll see.

My blue 32GB now has the expandable button to show a courier and tracking number but no info yet. Still says 7/11.

And if it works out that I don't get to keep unlimited, then I'll finally get to see how well T-Mobile's coverage works in the DC metro area. T-Mo prepaid with a GN or maybe a One X if you can use it. Unlimited data is the only incentive I have to stay on Verizon.

Why do people think Verizon is plotting?! My Am Ex denied the charge for possible fraud activity and when they told me who the charge was from it was criptic - it didn't say 'verizon'. Maybe if they put the charges through saying 'verizon' we wouldn't be having such a hard time. But then again, Am Ex said they see a lot of fraud with online cell phone purchases so they denied it for that reason.

Exactly what I did, except I'm considering just jumping to AT&T. Verizon has me pretty frustrated right now.

Yeah probably, but I would call to make sure. My AMEX Delta Gold caught it as fraud, but my AMEX Rewards did not.

[update] received my ship notification with fedx tracking number this afternoon. Supposed to arrive by 3PM Tuesday.


Preordered 6/26 with Ship by date of 7/11/12. As of this morning my card has been charged and my preorder is now a firm order with an order number with the same ship date. No email notifications. So far, so good.

I just paid cash in a corporate store on 6/26 and got a notification yesterday saying it had shipped and would arrive Monday no hassles at all. Did everyone order online for any special reason or anything? I understand using a credit card to pay for an unsubsidized phone, but would cash not have been easier for subsidized ones?

How would driving to my Verizon store be "easier" than sitting at home, sipping my cup of joe, doing a few clicks, and entering my CC number? Luckily I did not have an issue with my Visa card but thats besides the point. Plus with my CC's, I get a certain % back in cashback/points - so not only do I save on gas money (and time), but I get a little in return

I ordered on 6/15. The first day my upgrade was in effect. Verizon says it is shipping 7/10. We will see. Credit Card company talked to me last month about the Verizon order, so hopefully there is no problem. I'm still using the Fascinate.

I ordered on the 24th and have been checking order status every day for a week. Nothing until today. My credit card was charged this morning and it shows ship date of 07-07-12. FedEx tracking number show nothing yet. Hoping for Monday delivery...most likely Tuesday.

My store wouldn't accept cash on a pre order. (Of course, I could have just had a clueless usual idiot Verizon rep). I used a VZ Gift Card to avoid the CC hassles that I've heard of before.

That being said, I'm now four days since being charged on the gift card for shipment and have no tracking number.

It's weird that you guys are having these credit card issues... When I preordered the Droid Pro I actually went into the store and they swiped my Chase credit card, and no issues. When I preordered the Droid 4, I ordered it over the phone and they ran my cc numbers and no fraud issue bullcrap whatsoever. And to those that had their ship dates changed in Verizon's system, I would keep a copy of when you originally ordered the phone, because I can totally see Verizon pulling a fast one on the unlimited data I went into the store today and tested out the S3. Im gonna wait until the launch day and just try my luck
