The HTC One will be a hit, pass Galaxy S4 for ONE reason..

Show me an HTC phone that can do more out of the box (or even the same) as the note or gs3 and ill admit to HTC being superior but they don't have one.

The dna was a joke, HTC focuses too much on aesthetics and screen quality (which they do have the best of on any phone) but that's where their superiority ends.

How about coming with some new features?

Making your batteries removable (battery loses charge like all phones, especially HTC does your whole phone is bad because of it) makes more functional sense than a pretty design.

Making a high powered smartphone with only 16gb and ZERO expandable storage while giving it the best looking screen is counterproductive.

Why not pay attention to what samsung is doing.

The next HTC phone (if they're smart) will have the following

1. Incredible screens that they are known for
2. High capacity battery (think RAZR MAXX) that is user replaceable
3. MicroSD card slot
4. Minimum 32gb on board storage
5. An overall beautiful device (like the one or the droid DNA, or the black one x, the white one is ugly as is the evo lte)
6. Higher build quality (can't tell you how many charger ports from HTC that were poorly installed that needed to be resoldered
7. Some innovative features like samsung did
8. Great advertising
9l. Get the same phone on all carriers

THEN I can see HTC beating samsung since then they would have the all around best phone, but they love to sacrifice things and make trade offs.

Just come with a no compromise smartphone powerhouse and be done with it

sent from the best smart phone (not phablet) on the worst network- the galaxy S III unfortunately on T-Mobile

The normal customer doesn't care about removable batteries, the iPhone 5 has outstanding battery life(I picked one up a week ago because I've always loved Apple products ) it gets me through a proper admittedly the nexus 4 has just alright battery life, that's definitely not the norm with non removables.

Sure as hell feels cheap.

Yes it does, and that's where it fools many people. It's must better material than the feeling let's on. Most major mobile sires including this one have stated so in their reviews of Samsung phones.

This is from me, on my EVO 3D.

I would say the best android phones to come out last year were the Nexus 4, Note 2,droid DNA( I personally have. A nexus 4)

Yet combined, they probably sold less units than the S III and Note 2 during the same period.

Ok, you're already singing a different tune... You're going from SGS3 = the Best EVER to ux+Marketing = "one of the best ever" Now we can talk.

I agree with you, if HTC makes an incredible phone, but you can't buy it here unless you're on AT&T and only AT&T, and they leave the marketing to AT&T, what's the use...

The One X doesn't suck.

The Galaxy S III doesn't suck.

If you think either of those phones are crap, you have some pretty damn high expectations and must be disappointed at at everything in life.

Go back and read my post. When did I say it was the best ever and not "one of the best ever". Go ahead. You find it, and quote it here and I'll continue talking to you. Otherwise, I have no interest in a discussion with someone who puts words in my mouth. My tune never changed.

Everyone has their opinions, but tech websites everywhere said S3 1st, then Nexus 4, then Note 2. I think the Note 2 is THE best Android phone to date. But i sick with the S3 because it's one of the best still.

Jesus tell me you aren't serious with this? Boy dis gone be fun!

1. If the DNA is a joke based on its limitations, what does that make the Nexus 4 and iPhone, since they both have no removable battery, fixed storage, and quality construction?

2. "High-powered" Smartphone without a Micro SD card, modest battery, and modest storage makes for a counterproductive device eh?
2.1 These: Nexus 4, iPhone, Xperia Z, EVO4GLTE (wait this has SD or no?), One X,X+,and S are made by Apple, Google/LG, HTC, Sony who are counterproductive OEMs

3. Innovative features on Samsung? (I was hoping you'd make this comment)

3.1 S-Voice was innovative...hahahaha!!! How?!?! Oops it's a Samsung feature so es ist das beste.
3.2 S-Beam was innovative....but that functionality already existed.
3.3 Pop-up video was innovative...but that functionality already existed.
3.4 Hover preview was innovative...but that functionality already existed.
3.5 Hover Scroll was innovative....but that functionality already existed..
3.6 Smart Stay was innovative....did that already exist...you know..tracking eye movement with a camera?
3.7 Multi-window was innovative..did that already exist..having two modal/modeless windows adjacent to each other on the same display?
3.8 Samsung Music Hub....that's original.
3.9 S-Pen...yes that's innovative and has never been done before

6. Higher build quality (can't tell you how many charger ports from HTC that were poorly installed that needed to be resoldered
Dude really...really?!?! REALLY!?!??! Let's review Samsung's superb...ahem..ahem..standards for quality.

  • Sudden Death Syndrome. (Propaganda)
  • Exynos Security Flaw (Propaganda)
  • Copy & Paste Flaw (Propaganda)
  • AMOLED Display with burn-in (Propaganda)
  • AMOLED Display with POOR outdoor visibility (Propaganda)
  • AMOLED Display with those delicously inky blacks and the best color accuracy ever(Propaganda)
  • POOR night video recording quality (to include lack of metering, poor color accuracy, and exposure stopped down so low that it makes the vegas strip looks like an indoor gentleman's club)..but hey great fps
  • POOR daytime video recording quality (slow and sluggish metering and exposure adjustment)..but hey great fps right?
  • POOR audio recording quality (anything < 512hz is distorted or not even registered by that wonderful microphone)
  • POOR Construction and materials:

  • The Galaxy Note 10.1...500 bucks of awesome build ..heck they engineered plastic that can flex like taffy!!! (lets not talk about the assembly of this thing) (Propaganda)
  • The Chromebook puts the MB Air to shame and sets the new standard for quality for thin/light devices. (Propaganda)
  • The Nexus 10 and it's construction and materials that are the best in North America. (Propaganda)
  • Samsung seems to have this fetish for faux metal..GS3, GN2, Ativ S, Galaxy Tab 7,10,....blender. (Propaganda)

Keep in mind most of the above are hardware related. A question for you though, in TW are folders created in the same manner is ICS, JB, or GB, being that Samsung is always on the latest and greatest version of Android (or is this something so minor it's not work bringing up). Between Samsung and HTC, who delivers the fastest updates? Between Samsung and HTC, who has the highest customer satisfaction scores? Between the S3, HOX, and EVO4GLTE, which gets the best battery life? Between the Note 2 and the DROID Razr Maxx, which gets the best battery life? Between Samsung and HTC, who released the most devices in 2012?

Jjjijijijijiii I made all this up. Everything Samsung introduces has never been done before and is the best period!! Have fun picking apart this erroneous reply.

Here we go again. Note 2 certainly isn't THE BEST Android phone to date, nor it's the phone. It's a phablet, and I don't wanna look like an idiot holding it against my face. It's not for everyone. But I'll drop it. To each his own.

You must have missed before when i said tell me where I said the S3 is the best. Don't pretend you missed that. You accuse me, back it up. Go ahead. This site has a cool feature where you can quote me to prove it.

It doesn't take a big phone to make you look like an idiot. So far you're doing just fine on your own.

Hey man, no need for name calling. If you don't agree with others, state your opinion and be civil... No one is accusing you of anything here...

You put words in my mouth. Discussions are great if you don't twist someone's words. Why are you avoiding something as simple as quoting me to show me where I said what you think I did? I only say you're an "idiot" if you think it's acceptable to make shiz up. Clearly you ASSumed something that I said instead of actually reading what I said. Of course you'll disagree with me when you invent crap in your own head.

The Note 2 is far and away better than anything else on the market. Nothing even compares. HTC tried the DNA to match it because they thought a 5" screen was the only draw. They ignored the S Pen features which is what really intrigued people. They repeatedly miss the mark because they do not understand the consumer.

The SGS4 will be another nail in the coffin for the HTC One. Good try HTC, but they will not be selling no where near the numbers that Samsung does.

The Note 2, which every claims is too big easily sold 5 million copies. The HTC One won't come close to selling those numbers, and once the SGS4 is released the HTC One numbers will come to a crawl.

Hey man, no need for name calling. If you don't agree with others, state your opinion and be civil... No one is accusing you of anything here...

Also, isn't it a double standard that you can call Note 2 users stupid for their big phones by their head, but no one can call you stupid cause there's "no need"?

Did I? Go back and read what I said about Note 2, about me using it, and then read what you wrote about me... ok?

Any mods here?

Did i misunderstand where you said you'd look like an idiot with it by your head? Am I supposed to believe you would say that if you didn't think everyone looks dumb with such a big phone? Sorry, I'm not quite that gullible. Also, see how I quoted your words as part of the discussion? Still waiting for you to provide the same courtesy or admit you didn't read what i actually said.

Sure!

"If you don't think the GS3 IS one of the best ever, you're up in the night. Every tech website i follow said it was phone of the year, but here on HTC's threads, everyone says it's a cheap crap phone that only succeeded cause of advertising."

And shortly after I brought marketing to your attention:

"Of course I would. Like I said, HTC could make the best phone of all time, but if it was only available in Oriental countries, it does me no good. They need to make them AVAILABLE. The Galaxy S3 from user experience to Marketing is one of the best Android devices ever released."

Oh and let's not forget this one:

"I think the Note 2 is THE best Android phone to date. But i sick with the S3 because it's one of the best still."

Not sure what's your deal, you seem to be defending Samsung like it's your family's honor... No one is trying to take your phones away from you man... Unless you're working for them, your aggressive behavior can be only characterized as Fanboyism. I've owned S3, One X, currently own DNA, Nexus 4, have never had a reason as a consumer to behave that way... Just wow.
