the I AM HAPPY WITH MY THUNDERBOLT thread

This phone is so sick. Zero complaints here. Battery last a very long time after some power tweak. Best purchase I've made since my of Droid. VERY HAPPY!

very happy coming from blackberry and learning all the droid tips and tricks. battery life is much much better after a few cycles and tweaks like remove vibrate keyboard screen brightness ect...

Tango does work and I can post some tips for you:

1. If you don't use GPS often, turn it off, all of them. If you do use GPS often, I recommend only checking Standalone and Google.
2. Backlight. Either set to automatic or a low percentage such as 30-40%
3. Sync. I do not use HTC Peep or Friendstream. So I make sure that neither are auto-syncing. This will help your battery tremendously. Only have things you rely on to auto-sync i.e. gmail, calendar etc.
4. No live wallpapers. Under no circumstances.
5. Use the least amount of widgets as possible. Whatever widgets you have on your screen, they are running in the background.
6. Refrain from using task killers.
7. If you have wi-fi, I suggest you use it whenever possible.
8. Increase sync periods. Instead of having apps sync every 3 hours, increase it to 6, or something more helpful. Again, huge battery saver.

This isn't my first HTC rodeo. My first night of having this phone, I left it off the charger for almost 12 hours with light to moderate use. On a full battery it dropped to 85%. And you have people here claiming that they drop 50%. A little tweaking can get you far.

Hope this helps =)

Loving mine. Last night the slim battery dropped 30% after 6 hours. That's pretty good, usage was a lot of google voice texts and some light browsing.

Coming from a Storm 2. Hats off to both HTC and Verizon. I'm not even in a 4G area. Yes, I have to do some things to maintain battery life, but I'm ok with that -- I know efficiencies will be addressed by OS updates and such.

This phone definitely rocks.

awesome phone. new to verizon but not android.

batteries suck on any device. it just a fact of life.

get a blackberry if you don't like it.

this is a great device.

nice replies folks. even though i have mine i keep reading complaints and reviews and am trying not to psyche myself out. now i'm listening hard for white noise during calls (so far call quality has been great) or whether my volume rocker is mushy (nope) or if my screen colors are washed out or tinted (don't think so). but i think this is a sweet phone that will only get sweeter with future updates and potential root.

I am very happy with the ThunderBolt! it is exactly what i expected and then some! My old iphone is one expensive beer coaster now!

I am completely happy with my purchase. The battery life has improved significantly since yesterday and I expect that it will only continue to improve. I loved my rooted Og Droid and CM 7 but it just didn't hold a candle to this Thunderbolt. This thing is just amazing and was worth the wait.

I'm very happy with this phone. I was prepared for more battery usage because of the bigger screen so that's not a issue for me. To be able to do whatever I want on the phone makes it a good trade-off coming from Blackberry. I always use extended batteries so once that arrives I will be even happier. I can't wait for good tested custom ROMS to arrive.

I am one that is also very happy with my thunderbolt . I think the screen is great phone performs amazingly . 4 glte kicks butt and battery isnt as bad as some say . Also it is made with great quality nd i have had it sice launch day

Very happy. Smoking fast.
I will adapt to it from my bb because of all the pluses!

I'm extremely happy with my Thunderbolt! It's a night and day difference from my original Motorola Droid in speed. The phone feels well constructed and Sense is nice. I live in a 4G area and the speeds are insane.
