the I AM HAPPY WITH MY THUNDERBOLT thread

This has been the best one yet form me. My battery life this phone has been excellent. In fact it last it 24 hours with out recharging compare to to my fascinate which would last maybe may be 6-8 hours on a started day. I couldn't believe how good the sound that it transfer to my stereo and my Milwaukee
Power Tools - Radios - Jobsite Radio. Plus I love that flip over to speaker phone feature.

I am loving this phone. I had an Eris so I knew about battery life, so that's not a huge concern.

Tango does work and I can post some tips for you:

1. If you don't use GPS often, turn it off, all of them. If you do use GPS often, I recommend only checking Standalone and Google.
2. Backlight. Either set to automatic or a low percentage such as 30-40%
3. Sync. I do not use HTC Peep or Friendstream. So I make sure that neither are auto-syncing. This will help your battery tremendously. Only have things you rely on to auto-sync i.e. gmail, calendar etc.
4. No live wallpapers. Under no circumstances.
5. Use the least amount of widgets as possible. Whatever widgets you have on your screen, they are running in the background.
6. Refrain from using task killers.
7. If you have wi-fi, I suggest you use it whenever possible.
8. Increase sync periods. Instead of having apps sync every 3 hours, increase it to 6, or something more helpful. Again, huge battery saver.

This isn't my first HTC rodeo. My first night of having this phone, I left it off the charger for almost 12 hours with light to moderate use. On a full battery it dropped to 85%. And you have people here claiming that they drop 50%. A little tweaking can get you far.

Hope this helps =)

Excellent post! I did these and i went from having to charge midday at least once to making it through today with about 40% left. I also calibrated the battery.

This may be obvious, but is worth saying (repeating?). The HTC friendstream seems to eat a ton of battery. I downloaded the full Facebook and Twitter for Android and deleted the accounts on the version for HTC sense.

Oh yeah, I LOVE this phone. Coming from a BB storm2, I don't notice quirks, but that isn't saying much.

This is my first smart phone and so far I am loving it. An awesome device. I feel these things are the closest you can get to a PC in your palm. At least for me, it does everything I do on my PC except "real" gaming (and seriously, I would rather game on a 24" monitor with a real GPU or the PS3 or XBOX360). With all of my playing around on it, the battery lasts all day. I could not be happier and so far my only regret is waiting this long to get an Android phone!

Really wanted to be a part of it but had to return it back due to outrageously poor battery performance... hope to get next 4 g phone with better battery life,, maybe bionic

By the way, I am quite happy with my TB.

The speed and power are great, and being back on Sense (after an aggravating interlude on Phil Blur) is a great feeling. The new Sense is even better than its predecessor - I am still exploring it and finding new things I can do.

Loooooooove it!!! Love the screen, not just the size but the screen itself....is it me or does it sometimes look 3D ish?

2nd android phone (Fascinate the 1st); this phone performs very nicely. 1st HTC and so far I think Sense seems every bit as snappy compared to ZEAM, LP, GO launcher, etc. after a few tries with each. Certainly not as featherweight/pocket-able compared to the GalaxyS but doable. Graphics performance seems slightly behind the GS but I'm not using any demanding games at the moment. Happy so far but we'll give it a week and see. When are the dual-core LTE variants expected to land on VZW?

Love my HTC thunderbolt ! Will be even better once they update some of the problems but as of right now Love it! And i am coming from a HTC EVO

I got my TB first thing, I am very happy with the device overall. Once I root it I can remove the unwanted junk in the trunk that Verizon put on. Other than that it rocks.

Extremely happy with mine. I LOVE the phone. Just having one issue with the camera so I'm going to have to exchange it and one small issue with the 4g 3g switch.

Starting to really like this phone. Tried the voice search for a few things. I used Google navigation today. Wow is all I can say. Consider my tomtom gone. My buddies are amazed.

After getting this thing setup to do everything I need, plus other things I just like, I am sooooo happy I got this phone. Very professional device with all the right bells and whistles. Not to mention the power and dock options, which I am also gonna take advantage of. I'm a very happy camper now. Purchased two "must have" apps (for me) on the Market - Astro File Manager and OfficeSuite Pro. Man, I'm rollin' now! :)

Oh... and the Mobile Hotspot is the cat's meow! :)

I love it. My previous phone was a broken LG Chocolate so it's a big step up.

All those complaining are spoiled ;)

I really like the Thunderbolt. I think it will only get better and better. This phone is so new, yet a lot of the bugs we see are really the result of Verizon's control freakliness. I'm not super root saavy, but when simplified rooting comes along, this phone will be ultra powerful! Already, I feel so much better than in the first days of my Blackberry Storm. I waited 4 months into that phone, and it was still super buggy. I also have found this forum to be invaluable in getting this phone up and running. Everyday the phone's performance improves for me. :)

1st Android Device. 1st HTC Device. And 1st post here.

Love the TB so far. The battery life is not near as bad as I had imagined. Still learning but its all :D so far.

Best phone I've ever owned, not a single regret in purchasing. It's worked basically perfectly these first 3 days and still has me learning new stuff. The 4G coverage in my area is pretty good and makes the most out of this beast, and the battery is not nearly as bad as I anticipated. To the people who are nuking their batts in 3-4 hours I don't know what data your using or apps your running but you must be doing something constantly to cause this, my battery has been pretty good, yesterday with moderate to heavy use on 4G I got around 6 hours out of it before I went to recharge (and it still had about 25% left) and today I gave it moderate use all day, phone calls, internet, texting etc mostly on wifi today, unplugged it at 11 this morning and just now plugged it in 5 minutes ago when the battery went yellow so thats almost 12 hours of use today, no regrets here at all
