The Jelly Bean OTA update is complete.

Re: Get the official Jelly Bean OTA update? Post it up.

Sprint directed me to Samsung to see what the deal is. They are saying to wait it out and that it's coming. I remember when I had the Epic i could just go download it from the Samsung webpage as it came out.

Not the case here. This will be coming straight from Google's servers, not Sprint or Samsung.

The update specifically said "slow roll out beginning on the 6th." Give it time.

Slow roll out or not, you'd think we'd be hearing from recipients of the first wave by now, seeing how today is the day it is listed on Sprint's site as becoming available. Seems like another epic fail on Sprint's part, resulting in further delays.

Don't get me wrong, happy to be getting it soon, but I would almost rather not have learned about it coming out today, if it's not actually coming out today...there is only so much abuse my phone can take from mashing 'update phone' and re-starting it to see if it has come or if I can trigger it.

I was feeling the same way. Thursday to me means Thursday. I guess Sprint thinks differently.

Right. It is listed on Samsung's site that way as well...that it is available, but will be OTA only from Google.

OMG! I GOT THE UPDATE!

I GOT THE UPDATE!

I'm so, so, so sorry. That was mean wasn't it. 100+ people refreshing this page to see if ONE person has gotten the update... I just couldn't resist.

Please don't hurt me! lol

I have a Verizon GNex with a very good JB Rom. I don't think I'll ever wait for a carrier update again.

I was going to say that too, but want the update before someone kills me.

If the update was from Google we would have had it the same time as the GSM model. Sprint and or Samsung is dragging there feet.

More accurately I would say COULD have gotten it instead of WOULD. Google does not update carriers phones without their ok.

I strongly suspect the reason Sprint did not give the ok earlier is they feared releasing Jelly bean when the GSM version of it came out would impact GS3 sales.

How many people would run out to buy a GS3 running ice cream sandwich when they just got Jelly Bean on their Galaxy Nexus? or could buuy a GN and have Jelly Bean right now.

Even though Sprint does take forever with OTA updates everybody must have forgotten this is the G-NEX were talking about. Those OTA updates come directly from Google.

Re: Get the official Jelly Bean OTA update? Post it up.

I have been with Sprint for a long time. I have never seen an OS update from sprint that actually went out on the day they listed as the release date. ALWAYS it was 3-5 days after the stated release date.

Re: Get the official Jelly Bean OTA update? Post it up.

Last time I checked the update was being pushed out by Google not by Sprint. So if we need to look towards someone it should be Google.

Not so sure about that anymore. I thought that was the case, but it appears that the GSM version is being directly supported by Google, while the CDMA is carrier side. I would like to believe that this isn't true, but during Google IO, they specifically named our device as one of the first to receive JB (and it was...the GSM version), but since, many non-Nexus branded devices have received it...while we have this thread, wondering why we still don't have it.

If this is the case, it appears that it is pointless to buy a Nexus device through the carrier and in the future, I will just buy directly through Google.

Re: Get the official Jelly Bean OTA update? Post it up.

A little odd that no-one seems to have gotten the ota that was due out yesterday. I understand we make up a small % of the installed base but you would think someone would have gotten it by now. I am going to manually update tonight, certainly not waiting up to another week.

You are the winner of first to post about the update.
Give us a shot of the "About Phone" screen when it is done.

Thanks. :D
