Had mine since July 2015 and it JUST bootlooped. There was a software update a few days ago...think that had something to do with it?
Some owners commenting in the link I provided seem to think similarly, that the update might be the culprit.

Exact same boat...bought it in July 2015 too, never had a problem until after the update and suspected that update was the culprit, but no proof. Sent it back to LG (used my own UPS 2 Day shipping since the free FedEX said it would take 10 days!). They got it Thursday, and it's on it's way back after one day of turn-around, fixed free since they know the G4 is a Lemon.
Man this thread just keeps going.Got mine in Nov 2015, mine bootlooped back on June 19. LG is replacing - first they said "new" phone, now they're saying refurbished. Three weeks total to get - must come via slow boat from Korea? Only took 3 days to get to facility in Texas. I don't remember seeing anything about an update, but really sucks. Given the "quality" of LG's customer service, I seriously doubt I'll buy another LG product any time soon.
The only lawsuit I'm aware of is the G4/V10 class action suit. I know that lawyer was seeking input from V20 users that bootlooped, but it sounded like just an attempt at a money grab via the courts and never heard if the V20 was added to the suit.I know there's a lawsuit that includes the G5/V20, but I will continue point this out.
Right on. Perhaps I misread or misunderstood. The only lawsuit I'm aware of is the G4/V10 class action suit. I know that lawyer was seeking input from V20 users that bootlooped, but it sounded like just an attempt at a money grab via the courts and never heard if the V20 was added to the suit.

I've said this before and I'll continue to say it. The G5/V20 run wasn't plagued with the massive boot loop issue that made the G4/V10 run a dumpster fire. I understand that the issue has changed hearts and minds regarding LG. I know there's a lawsuit that includes the G5/V20, but I will continue point this out. I feel it's only fare. To each their own. Cheers.

My wife's just got bricked. My wife contacted LG Canada online chat. They claim they fix phones with the boot problem, that have been manufactured within the last 24 month. Even though my wife only owned the phone for 21 months and still have 3 months left in her 2 year contract, LG would not repair for free because it was manufactured more than 24 months. The phone is probably among the first batch when it was released in June 2015.
When I was informed of this, I was furious and call the 1-888 number and made the following statements
-the issue is well known and admitted by LG
-no manufacture offers warranty and repair services based on the date of manufacture. It is always based on the date of purchase
-we signed a standard two year contract and "your phone does not even last 24 months!!!"
-LG knew this problem and did not do a thing for customers who already bought G4.
They quickly checked with their manager and offered me free shipping and free repair.
They are repairing this for free out-of-warranty. But at the same time, it is a lemon, and LG should have recalled all G4 to begin with.
