When the screen is unlocked, and I'm using the device, it takes up screen space. I see a good use for it when the device is locked. In theory, I rather like that. But doesn't it use a lot of battery?

When I use it or a turn it off, I believe there's only like a 3% difference before I want to charge it. I keep it on. If you flip the phone on its screen it goes off.

After using this iPhone 7, that I'll be giving to my Hubby, I really appreciate my LG phones. Right this very minute iOS feels rather plain. ...but for iOS the excitement is in the apps, I know...but there's just much to love with the LG phones.

(It is hard to change eco-systems and go from Samsung to LG, but the LG does what I want, concerning both batteries and SD cards. And it's here.) I'll try that and see how often I forget. I usually turn it on its face anyway. The next question: any burn-in complaints or worries?

It doesn't take up that much space.... The camera is on the same line. It is my understanding that it doesn't use much battery.

Actually, I am seeing now that whatever space it uses is inaccessible for other apps anyway... So may as well try it, I thought..I confess I am beginning to like it.

No burn in and I had it day one.

I also rather disliked the power button/fingerprint scanner on the back at first. Not a biggie, but a shock to my system. Now, I think this is a huge improvement on the Samsung. It means I can unlock the phone easily with my left or right index finger---one handed, instead of having to hold with one hand and scan the finger with the other; or, put it down on a flat surface. Really liking this innovation now. Thought it was dumb. Now seems inspired. Took awhile to get used to it, but I'm getting excellent results now.

All things considered, the disparity in popularity between Samsung and LG seems absurd. You can debate if you wish whether this phone or that phone is slightly better, etc, but given the quality and features here (removable batteries, sd card support both important to ME), this shouldn't be a distant third in the competition. It hangs well and given the overall feature set and quality, I'd say I prefer it. I don't have any burning desire to return to the Samsung ecosystem. This survey (https://www.comscore.com/Insights/R...ry-2016-US-Smartphone-Subscriber-Market-Share) factually true, I'm sure, doesn't make sense in light of the phone's quality. That's regrettable. A little competition wouldn't hurt.

LCDs don't burn in. That is a problem exclusive of the AMOLED screens. However, AMOLED look better to most of us. I suspect LG used LCD on this phone because of the second screen I would have wished AMOLED with no second screen than LCD with second screen but given what we have I do use the second screen and find it useful sometimes. For me the most useful when screen is off to see the time and notificacions, I wouldn't worry to flip the phone to turn off the second screen since I leave it on all the time screen facing up and even overnight I only loose like 3-4% when dozing.

When main screen is on, I only use the second screen the same way that the windows task bar

I've been seriously intrigued by this phone (so much that I have been looking at cases and accessories and have a few in my Amazon cart waiting for me to push the button) and am considering upgrading my S7 to either the V20 or the iPhone 7 Plus. My main holding point is the light bleed from the second screen to the main display whille it's off in a dark room. That was my major turn off to the V10 and G5, so my question is if they improved it on the V20?

They improved it a lot compared to the V10 but I still can see bleeding from the second screen to the main screen either when screen is on or off if it's a very dark environment

I don't see any issue at all. I have no basis for comparison since I didn't have the V10, but let's put it this way: Until you mentioned this, I hadn't even thought about it. It wasn't important enough to notice. I still don't notice anything.

Imho almost any Android phone will always be better than any iPhone. Just the way it is for me. Also not saying the the iPhone 7+ isn't a great phone, again it's just not for me. I also think that the V20 is better than even the fated note 7 or any Samsung on the market, definitely in performance but that could all be chalked to nougat.

I came from a Note 5 to a V20. So far I'm very impressed with the V20 and there are a ton of features packed into this phone!

I ordered a OnePlus 3t and am still waiting for it, so in the meantime I went down and used my upgrade for a LG V20 until the 3t gets here?

I have to tell you that the V20 has really impressed me a ton. The battery life, screen, and second screen are all very useful to me. The notification light is a double edged sword for me. On one hand I like it on the Samsung's mainly for charging, but hate it at night when it's blinking in my face lol. I actually prefer the always on second screen and notifications on the LG at night, but really wish it had a charging light to show when it's done charging.

Agree 100%. Before the V20, I had the s7 edge for about 7 months, the Note 7 for about 1 month and I still own an iPhone 6s plus as a backup phone and for me the LG v20 is better than both s7 edge and iPhone 7.

Each person has their own preferences but for me any Android flagship is better than the iPhone for "MY" usage there are just too many things that I can do in an Android and I can't in an iPhone (split screen, true multitasking, file Explorer, can connect it to my car's ECU via bluetooth, hide sensitive content on lockscreen, check if I have notificacions without touching the phone,etc.) that's just to mention some but when I used my iPhone 6s as my daily driver for about 3 weeks I realized at least 15 things that I couldn't do anymore that I used to do with Android.

That being said, for the regular person that uses the phone for calling, texting, browsing and Facebook, I would agree the iPhone is better since the OS is optimized better and more restricted so it's faster and a battery of the same capacity would last longer.

Also, the s7 edge and note 7 are wonderful devices and have many useful features, my s7 edge would had died two times in accidents if it wasn't because of the water resitance, also wireless charging was very convenient sometimes and they have the very best looking screens on the market for my liking. I believe I would still have note 7 as my daily driver if it wasn't because of the recall but the killer features for me on the lg v20 over the samsungs are that it is faster and lag free compared to touchwiz lagfest, it has removable battery, it has flat screen, the design withstand drops better as I use very slim cases and I don't use screen protectors, ir blaster, I prefer not having a physical home button, phone bluetooth and wifi signals are better and the last reason is stupid but I enjoy unlocking the phone immediately after touching the sensor instead of pressing a physical/mechanical button to go to lockscreen, then unlock with fingerprint.

It's kinda funny. My wife is running the iPhone 7+ and apparently it has a split screen ability. The funny part is that the only person able to get it to work is our 15 month old, neither my wife or I can figure it out.

I've always had an interest in the Nexus line. I actually almost got a pixel XL straight from Google but the v20 sucked me in. Lol
