It's all about the updates and the developer support! This phone has been out for less than 1 week and we already have it unlocked, rootable, a new OS, a new radio, custom ROMs, free WiFi tethering and Google Wallet. NONE of this comes from Verizon.

I saw an article on the home page of AC about one of the manufacturers saying they would have ICS rolling out to its devices in March/April. That really means that after the carriers get through with their internal testing, you might see it in May/June...pathetic.

If you're not into rooting, then get it for the incredible screen, speed and smoothness of the OS. Yes, you'll read post of people having problems, but that's because this is where you come to seek solutions. This phone is awesome and completely trouble free on my end.

I agree 100%. This is the ONLY phone to have on Verizon for Modders. Every dev and then some have shown up for this baby and their ROMs/kernels/radio are amazing. Its hard keeping up with all the mods.

It has been a pure joy this past week hacking this phone and know it will only get better.

What mods you using?

I like to think that I represent a "new gen" of Android users: the iOS defectors. I bought the GNex because I want more screen and LTE. I look at everything else as extra. While I will root the phone when it arrives, I might not do anything else. We'll see.

Now if the Google would just clean up the market and leverage ICS to reduce fragmentation moving forward...

I really like the community that is involved with android. But I just can't get past the phone quality you get with apple at this time.

I just wish one company would make a high quality phone, Not just cheap plastic. Something that feels like a luxury car, not a fiat (nothing against them lol)

I am going to take back my nexus, I will miss a lot of aspects of ICS and the nexus screen. But the battery life, and bugs are just too many at this point to have to deal with on a personal level.

3G is slow, but I have a phone that just works.

Yep yep.. lets see, had my Bionic 3 months and saw about 3 ROMs come out for it (I'm counting th3ory's as one even though he released like 7 I think haha)

... 5 days with the nexus and we have like 2 dozen out there plus kernels for even more customization, tons of mods to tweak the roms with... dudes this is heaven for me :D

Battery is great on the Gnex if you tweak it right. I get over 15 hours moderate use. The other day I was running my Nexus with light use over wifi and after 10 hours I still had 75% left.

I agree it absolutely depends on how you use it and how you tweak it... I can murder the extended battery in 5-6 hrs if I don't put the phone down and am constantly doing stuff, especially on 4g... or it can last me 2 days on very light use... well I'm speculating since I haven't given it that much "light" use since I got it, lol.. but the other day between sleep and me getting busy with some real life stuff, I had it on pretty light use and over 15 hrs my battery dropped from 100% to 78%... However when I have a slow day at work and am constantly on my phone, I can go there on a full charge and 6-7 hrs later be under 10% and cursing myself for not bringing the charger :)

No Doubt, having all those goodies makes this phone Da Best:cool: Reminds me of the OG Days....and them lasted a very long time!

I could get 5 hours if that, but I am a very heavy user. That was with the extended battery.

Like I said there are many positives for the phone, just not enough yet to sway me over.

I am going to miss 4G without a doubt.
