The Next Google Nexus Device

I prefer anything but samsung... Can we get a non samsung nexus phone?

Not Tegra 3, or even Tegra 4. All Tegra chips are pure hype and underperform.

The next Nexus SoC should be the S4 Pro, Exynos 5512, OMAP5 or Medfield.

This.

My bet is that the Nexus will be a Samsung device with OMAP5. I am highly interested in S4 Pro and dual-core A15 Exynos with Mali T-604, but I'm afraid those might be initially only on tablets.

Just for the sake of something different, I still really hope we see at least 2 Nexus phones, at different display sizes and one not made by Samsung (I like Samsung, but for the sake of something noticeably different let's let someone else make the Nexus).

I just hope they give it a stand alone name that doesn't reference anything Samsung like "S" or "Galaxy". Just keep the Nexus part and add either a number or cool sounding word that is 3 or 4 letters long.

Yeah the next nexus should be just nexus, no other branding.

FFS can we at least get a Nexus phone that is not bigger than the previous one? Maintain the screen size and make the overall device smaller or at the very least maintain the overall size and make the screen bigger but please not a bigger device!

Agreed. My optimal Nexus phone has a 4.65" display just like the Galaxy Nexus, but is overall slightly smaller than the GN. What I won't be happy about is if they continue to push the screen ballooning wars and give us a 4.8" or 5" display Nexus that is bigger than the One X and GS3. Which is why I still think the smartest move by Google would be to release at least 3 different Nexus phones, each made by a different manufacturer, and each one a different size. A 4", 4.3", and 4.65". Or a 4.3", 4.65", and 5" if they want to continue the screen ballooning wars but still offer something for people who like smaller phones.

Either samsung or motorola(newly owned by google)

specs:
OS:Android 5.0 key lime pie.
Chipset:Tegra 3(maybe also OMAP 5 ?)
screen size and type:4.9 or 5inchs with on screen buttons,HD Super AMOLED pentile matrix.
RAM:1GB
Camera:8mpx rear,1.3mpx front.
Storage:16/32GB non expandable.

I highly doubt it would launch this year since it's unlikely that google will release any new android version this year as only 10% of phones are running ICS and only the gnex got official Jelly bean so far(also nexus 7 if tablets count)...unless if they will just release it with jelly bean.

Wow! I guess I will join in the fun.

Manufacture: HTC
Screen: SLCD with front of device being all glass.
Screen Size:4.3 to 4.7
Processor: S4 or newer Snapdragon processor.
Battery: 1800mah +
Profile: HTC Nexus One meets HTC One X and have a baby. Curved body with flat glass.
Color: Sutle pearl Black and White with Aluminum Accents. No glossy finish!
Body: Polycarbonate unibody design
Software: Key Lime Pie
$350 - $400 gsm from the play store.

FYI HTC On screen buttons.

They will release the next one later this year without a doubt. It will not have KLP but have JB out of the box. They will, want, and need to keep up the cycle with Apple. 1 nexus a year.

I like where you were going. Here's what I was thinking

Manufacturer: HTC
Screen: AMOLED (LCD's are battery hogs) *No pentile display
Screen Size:4.5" no physical buttons
Processor: S4 or newer Snapdragon processor.
Battery: 1850mah + NFC
Software: Android 4.1+
Radios: GSM/CMDA a la the Rezound
Camera: VGA Front and 8MP rear cameras *with front and rear LED flash

$450 direct from Google

Samsung made with their new fmm 350 PPI super amoled screen at 5 inches
Android 4.1
Quad core Samsung exynos 5xxx processor
2 GB of ram
25 dollars free in the play store

Then it will probably have an exynos 5 chipset. That would be nice for S2/S3 owners because it means development for these phones will be easier and longer since exynos won't be ''propriety'' anymore, that's in case it's made by samsung of course

My ideal:

Build: Motorola
Chip: TI Arm A15 (would like a new topology)- emphasis on graphics and power consumption with dedicated camera functionality
Ram: 2gb
Screen: 300+ ppi super amolded plus or LCD tips (no pentile)
Rf:High quality radios/modems (moto is known for this)
Battery: don't care about size or removing it, as long as it lasts.

Would like both tab dock and lap dock options that are priced properly. Android needs something like that to stay fresh and relevant as the cloud and ecosystem reaching more screens becomes more and more important.
