The Note 9 Reviews are out and most look very promising

Reviewers often say if you have the Note8 or S9+, you may want to skip the Note9. Has anyone ever said if you are planning on skipping the S10+, this is the phone for you? I've never intentionally bounced back and forth between the Note and S series. If and when I get the Note9, I will casually keep an eye on the S10, but will not get it.

I only bought my S8 because my Note 4 was driving be crazy with it's slowness. I'll have a Note again one day.

Same, Note 9 seems to be ok overall, tempting a bit, but i'll wait for the M20 Pro and XL3.

I'm waiting for my 512gb note 9 to get delivered this week however I'm anxiously waiting for the mate 20 pro to come out. I might jump to that when it does.

Are there any reviews that specifically address how the Note 9 camera handles
Fast moving subjects. I love my Note 8 but almost every picture I took of my 2 year old hyperactive nephew came out blurry. Is the Note 8 supposed to handle this better. That was one big complaint on the Note 8.

I wasn't too impressed with the Note 8. I also got a lot of blurry picture. In my experience, my S8 shot better pictures. I hope the Note 9 is better.

6 months old CPU and GPU.
small upgrade for a high price tag.
Only 2 year's of Major update's,
support Quick Charge 2.0 from 4 years ago.
did any of the Professional Tech reviews told you this?

Yep the best reviews did

No phone handles this well. You need a RELATIVELY still subject. I have 2 toddlers and a baby. I take 10 pictures and 1-3 are good, 1 ends up AMAZING (frame worthy) and 6 are trash. That's just par for the course with little ones. When I take pictures of adults, all the pictures are amazing on the Note 8. :)

Every phone is a lesson in compromises. Samsung Galaxy Note series makes the LEAST compromises of any smartphone. You go enjoy longer updates and faster charging and I will enjoy the Best Screen, Stereo speakers, best water proofing, S-Pen, top 3 camera, best trade-in effectively making it a $400 phone, etc.

Also, your comment about 6 month old CPU and GPU has exactly zero relevance. There is no newer or better processor available for any android phone in the world right now.

I think people forget that smartphones cameras are not DSLR level. And will never be. Blurry photos will always happen with fast moving subjects. Heck my DSLR can take blurry photos.

I mentioned the 6-month old CPU because the price is $1000. For that high price you don't want a CPU which is 6 months old. Samsung should include its own CPU if snapdragon is to lazy to make a powerful CPU.
For $1000 you want quick charge 4.0+
For $1000 you want 4 or 5 years of Major updates.

OnePlus 3T can get Android 9.0 Pie
Google Pixel 2 can get 3 years Major updates.
iPhone can get 5 years Major updates
Why can't Samsung? So why charge $1000?

Same here. After 2 years of using the Pixel XL and the Pixel 2 XL I've been spoiled by the camera. I don't like the leaked design of the 3 XL at all, so I'm taking a hard look at the Note 9 and trying to watch/read every review I can to get a feel for the camera performance. I think I'm just going to wait a little bit of time until the phones are in the hands of regular users instead of professional reviewers so I can compare pictures at that time.

This is pretty much it for me as well. I really can't say I like the design of the 3 XL (assuming the leaks are true) and I'm really looking at the Note 9, I'm just scared of Samsung's really slow pace of updating the OS. Note 9 being released on Oreo 8.1 and most likely won't get Pie until March/April... By that point, Android Q will be nearing release lol

Always true about OS updates though. I came fomr the 2 XL which i liked, but I love the Note 9. What exactly from Android P do you use enough that you would miss on The Note 9 do you think? I miss nothing at all. Zero so far ..

I bit the bullet and bought the Note 9. If I don't like it within the two weeks I'll just return it. I can't seem to like the direction that the Pixels are going in

I'm with you on this. I don't really care for the Pie update at all. The gesture navigation is half-baked so I'm still using the buttons, I don't like the clock on the left side, I don't like the horizontal recent apps menu, I don't like how the notification bar is treated as though I already have a notch, etc. I know people say the changes are cosmetic and you get used to them. Yeah, I guess I get used to them, but that still doesn't mean I like them. Is it bad that I'm almost excited about getting a Note so I can go back to Oreo? I still have a week before my upgrade is available, but the one thing that still concerns me is the camera. I've seen some beautiful pictures so far in the photos thread, but I've also seen several examples of the Note's camera blowing out highlights which the Pixel camera rarely, if ever, does. That's the only thing that still has me on the fence.

Having the latest version of Android on a Samsung is a little overrated. If you need that, there are phones out there for that. I think that Samsung flagships should all get 3 years of major updates.
People don't need to buy a $1000. There's probably a good reason why Samsung doesn't use Quick charge 4.0 as well. They do a lot of R&D. They probably don't need to explain to us why they don't use it.
Everyone has different priorities with what they want on their phone. One person's perfect phone will not be everyone's.
Samsung is probably shocked right now they got so many people to bite on a $1250 phone. Who knows what they will charge the next time knowing this?

The 845 is a powerful processor.
Samsung quickcharge is as quick as others. Don't let the 2.0 fool you.
Majority of ppl don't keep a phone 4 or 5 years so why waste the resources updating them?
We will get Pie as well.
