The Official Battery Life Thread

Thanks for the info. I had been toying with installing that ROM. My previous phone was an Incredible and I thought that I would miss Sense, but I really don't.

ok had extremely bad battery today for some reason. Took off charger at 7a and by 3:00p I was already down to less than 25%. Didn't do anything differently today nor use it more heavily. If anything, I used it less than yesterday. What gives? I did have 2 launchers running but also had this yesterday (I am testing Go Launcher and Zeam - leaning towards Zeam if anyone is curious)... so not sure what would have killed battery today. Very frustrating. I have the extended battery still in the box, not sure I want the increased weight and depth yet, but I may not have a choice.

Any thoughts?

I can't even get 7 hours on a regular basis with the extended battery. What's the deal??

watch ur background apps via the shortcut "Running Services" and the app "Task Manager" - put these on one of ur home screens

put on Max Battery Saver

use a LTE Switch to 3G when not in heavy data use

Ill never have battery life issues I have 5 batteries. 3 which are extended and 2 standard which have never actually been used. I average 52 MB a month if someone is wondering why I have so many batteries and im always on the road away from a charger. I charge all 5 before I leave town and don't touch a wall outlet for about 5 days. Sometimes 4.

52MB huh? Must be some hardcore megabytes. Lol I'm assuming you mean GB?

I used to have apps in the auto kill list for the stock Task Manager, but I was noticing my phone would slow down and "redraw" a lot, so I removed all apps from that list. Yesterday, my phone was just chilling on my bed, and when I turned the screen on, I saw a message from the system saying that the Facebook app has been running for 45 mins and is using many resources, would I like to shut it down?

I had never seen a message like that before, and when I went to the app, the only thing that it could have been was a friend was messaging me via Fbook, and the messages popped up on my screen using the Fbook app.

This morning when I checked the battery graph, it was almost completely depleted, and the massive drain coincided with that event last night. I'm not sure if the latest Fbook update messed with the battery life, or if this is just a one off event

My battery is getting a lot better. I left it unplugged all night and it only lost 10 %.

I don't know if I'm just getting lucky or if I actually figured out my battery life problem. I've been using the same memory card since I had the BlackBerry Tour went to the Droid Incredible and now the Droid Bionic. Yesterday afternoon I went thru the memory card and deleted everything with the exception of the pictures I've had stored there. Since then my battery life has been off the charts currently after 3 hours and 36 min. on battery I'm still at 90%. This is on the standard battery.

Haven't been keeping up with this thread, but my battery is now regularly doing the following: will charge it fully to 100% (usually while phone is on, but last night tried it with phone off).

After about an hour, I check the stats, and even with no usage, the battery life graph will plummet down to 80% or 90%. From this point forward, my battery will discharge normally, but that first hour, the graph will almost always go straight down (sometimes it doesn't even start at 100%, it will start at 90% or so).

Is there any way to "refresh" my battery stats/ cache? Do you think this is a battery or phone problem?

Just an update on my battery life issues. I had to disable widget locker because it was using up the entire battery before the day was even halfway over. But they have released an update recently that has fixed the battery life issues. I ran it all day today and I'm still at about 50 percent.

Hi,

Is there an App that will give the actual usage time for the battery rather than the time since the phone has been unplugged? I am trying gauge how much time I have actually used the phone.
