Hi.
I've decided to make an official complaint thread for the HTC EVO Phone.

(Please feel free to post all your complaints HERE).

One issue is the blinking notification - When the phone is charging there are no blinking notification alerting you of any missed calls, or messages/emails. There is only a steady amber or green light visible.

I wish hulu movies/video clips could be played on the phone.

The portrait keyboard keys should be a little wider/bigger for easier typing(IMO).

OK i know we both came from the Pre to the EVO......and I agree the notifications could be better,,,,especially since there is a secong light available for use on the EVO (like can be used with WiMax notifier) My only true complaint is that is a lot more complicated to root the EVO than the pre.....but as of right now...not really wanting to

I agree about the rooting of the phone. I don't understand how to even start the process. Honestly, I'm not interested in doing that right now.

Rooting to me is a lot more complicated than developer mode. Nonetheless, I'm loving my Evo. :):)

Rush: Looks like you are rooted already based on your signature, right? :)

I have to say, rooting was the best thing I've done since buying this phone. You have so much more control over the way your phone works, looks, and performs. It's not as it hard as it seems - I think my initial hangup was more fear of the unknown than anything. There are so many guides out there and if you go over to the EVO Hacks forum, there are some really experienced guys over there willing to help out if you get stuck. Plus this will keep me from getting bored so quickly and wanting to buy the next best thing.... :) My two cents...

Awesome phone (duh), 4G blows. I live in Portland, OR and commute to Seattle, WA 3 nights a week. 2 supposed hotbeds of 4G goodness. The speed is rarely (80 kb right now with 2 bars) what it's cracked up to be. And the signal drops off/out a lot.

The speed issue obviously depends upon location (I have gotten 5-6 mb in downtown Seattle), but the unsteady connection is something else entirely.

And that's my only complaint. But it's a big one.

Guys..rooting is hard??? UnvEVOked. Google it in 10 minutes you'll be rooted. You won't regret it. Especially when you gather 8 of your iphone buddies around so they can hook up to your free wi-fi teather on 4g speeds. Then you can watch them all crush their iphones with bricks and RUN to the Sprint store for an EVO.

I have a serious EVO complaint! I don't have an EVO. That is my complaint!

I guess you never used webOS. Developer mode takes 10seconds to turn on. Literally.

He didn't say it was "hard" per se. He said that accessing developer mode is easier than rooting.

camera lense sticking out.

lack of a physical mute button.

poor integration with MSFT exchange/calendar.

contact manager is ugly (don't need "send message to..." for every #).

stock keyboard is slow and inaccurate compared to iOS. cut, copy & paste is really crappy (i.e. inaccurate).

a less elegant user experience when browsing the web (pinch/zoom, completing online forms should automatically bring up the keyboard).

pretty petty complaints really...

Compared to what? Blackberry?

Relatively speaking, Sense is better than AOSP, and better than Touchdown. Touchdown can be customized a great deal more, but aesthetically it sucks. Moreover, it's not possible to use touchdown, and get a calendar that is integrated for Gmail+EAS accounts. After spending time with lots of AOSP roms, I eventually went back to a Sense-based rom specifically because of this.

I have lots of suggestions on how the Sense mail app can be improved, but overall it's not bad compared to other android solutions. I agree it's not perfect, but it's not "bad" by any means.

No controls for apps from the notification. Not being able to clear one notification at a time. No reorder of apps in launcher. I wish the folders on my homescreen would close after I open an app in them.

Ahhhh...I owned a pre for a short period of time..love the OS, however didn't keep the phone long enough to "root" or go into developer mode. Palm dropped the ball by not releasing the SDK prior to the release of the phone..hopefully HP will makes some good WebOS tablets.

You're so right about all these missing features. It takes time getting use to not having features that you had on your other device.

Another problem I notice is the limitation on open web pages. Max - (4) You can only have four open web pages at any giving time... THAT REALLY SUCKS!
