I got mine today from seido so I thought I'd start a thread so folks can post experiences.

The 1600mah extended life battery is about a gram, to a gram and a half LIGHTER than the stock battery. I was surprised it wasn't heavier than the stock.

It asks that you charge it for eight hours so it will be awhile before I can judge performance.

It also says that performance will improve after 5-6 full charges.

Now we need a spare battery charger to go with it tho.

Correct, same battery door and same size battery. Seido claims this battery provides fifteen percent more battery life in the same form factor. We'll see.

I personally wont be able to answer this until I've cycled this battery five or six times and then monitor it and see if there is a noticable improvement. I probably won't be able to give a truly objective answer for five to seven days.

This will be interesting... My biggest beef with the Nexus (that's I've returned) was the battery life... Interesting to see how this works... Of course, I'll never go with an HTC device again, but still valid info, as Seido makes batteries for pretty much anything...

if anything, i'm now waiting for a Nexus Two from Moto... could be a while but I'll ride it out...

@mi canuck: also my biggest beef with the N1 is battery life. If I can get that resolved at some point I'll be a happy camper.

I haven't been able to do a head to head comparison between the stock and 1600mah yet, but so far I'm not noticing much, if any, improvement.

The 1600mah seido battery seems to drain just as fast as the stock battery. I'm thinking a 15% improvement isn't enough to make a difference.

As of now, if youre one of the folks having battery life issues, I would wait to buy this battery until they also offer a stand-alone battery charger. It's great having a spare battery but does no good if you cannot charge it while using the other in your phone. I personally would not pay 50 bucks agan for the 15% extra life. I would pay the 50 again only if seido also sells a stand alone charger. That way you always have a fully charged spare.

In a few more days I'll do a head to head... and try and use the phone the same way with both batteries and see if I can come up with a result of some kind as to which battery is best and if there is any real difference.

Yeah good point, will do. I actually have hopes that the update will do more to help battery life than has the extended life battery.

This might fix my problem where the phone gets warmer than normal when in the dock, so far I don't dare leave it in all night, don't want to fry my phone

Just got my N1. Battery is not what I'd like it to be. Coming from a Blackberry bold.

Here's my thinking on this:

This phone was MADE for the internet...so it's always talking to it..that's definitely going to be one obvious drain. the other, according to the phone, is the display. not exactly sure how to get around THAT one. I've lowered the brightness all the way in settings, and make sure it dims out after 30 seconds of idleness.

Another thought..I'm not able to get on 3G. Could it be that since the phone is running on EDGE, it takes longer for things to load, thus draining the battery more quickly?

Do make sure that it's not syncing all the time(circular arrows icon on top)..as a bb user i'm used to this, but it's a definite drain.

That's a definite no: while it certainly does take longer to load, it drains less battery than the same amount of data would over 3G. 3G uses a crapload more battery than EDGE. Disabling 3G also helps conserve battery in yet another way: if your phone has to switch between 3G and EDGE a lot, that REALLY kills the battery.

Well so far, I've been unable to notice much difference between the stock 1400mah battery and the seido 1600mah. I maybe get 30 more minutes with the seido. Depending on my usage, the seido sometimes lasts less time than the stock.

Personally, I would NOT recommend buying it as a replacement battery. IMO, not enough extra juice to justify 50 bucks.

I would recommend it for a spare battery. Problem is, I emailed seido and they have no estimation when a spare battery charger will be available, so as of right now, I can only recharge the spare in my Nexus and that totally sucks.

I'm eagerly awaiting the Google desktop dock that has that spare battery charger slot. Then the car dock, then all my power issues should be resolved.

I'll post one more time after I've cycled thru a few more charges with the seido.

Welcome to the world of a smartphone with a touch screen. With the Bold you had a tiny screen in comparison that was not touchscreen. Makes a huge difference. And if you were on 3G your battery life would be a bit worse actually.

In the end, compared to other smartphones with touchscreens I've found that the Nexus One battery life is above average.

You are right, spare stock battery is the way to go.

I didn't realize that. I am getting a full day and sometimes 1 1/2 on a battery now. If they come out with the car kit, I don't have a need for a spare.

@sausalito Blackberrys have some of the best battery performance around. Nothing I've used has been as good. Sorry.
