Woo hoo! I'm overyly excited to have this phone in hand and using it today! I'm coming from the BB Storm 9530, so it's been a LONG time coming!! Anything HAS to be better than that piece of junk!

I almost ordered online, but had the time today to run into the store. They opened at 9:00. I was there at 9:30.
He said they received 40 units for their store, and I was only the 4th person that had been in for one.

So far, I'm liking it. I can't wait to really sit and mess with it.

I picked mine up this morning. So fast!!!! I'm loving it. There is a crazy amount of apps I can't uninstall :-(. Also is there any way to change what the 3 buttons do in the main bar (app drawer, phone, customize)? I don't want the customize button to be there all the time.

Got my bolt! I'm in a 4g area and ran speedtest. 9597kbps down and 21767kbps up. Wow! Thats better than I get at home.

Got mine! I found out my boy works over at the VZW store I went to. Gave me a free car charger, silicone case and skull candy ear buds! I have to say I made out pretty good! Got there at like 9:03 and there were already 5 people in front of me getting a Thunderbolt.

I was first in line at my store it's charging right now and I have to do ALOT of learning! OMG what a difference in SPEEEEED from my Storm 1 !!!!!!! I can actually get on the Internet in a matter of seconds compared to minutes and minutes and minutes on my storm and so far, no white pages like I got on my Storm.

Got my Bolt....Coming from a Tour I am learning and trying to figure stuff out. So far, my contacts got doubled up..The rep didnt look before running a program.

Just got mine at the VZ Wireless kiosk at the BJs Wholesale in S. Nashua NH. No lines at all, one guy in front of me was just finishing up his purchase (Thunderbolt) when I got there. Now to learn this thing........

Unfortunately I went home with a Thunderbolt that I can't make calls on because there is an issue with transferring my number to the sim card. The sim card is telling verizon there is another number associated with it and I have to wait 24 hours before they are able to remove it and switch my number over to it and activate it. UNBELIEVABLE!

Heres my story.
I was sitting in front of the store at 8:30am. They must of known I was waiting. I didnt have to wait for anybody. They open the door 2 mins early and wave me in. They all gathered around and asked,
vzw "What can we do for you today?"
me "I would like to buy a new phone"
vzw "Which phone are you interested in?"
me "the htc thunderbolt"
vzw "we sold out"
me WHATTTTTT,
vzw "yeah we had a presale at 5am
me i had a amazed look on my face and was thinking of what to do.
vzw, "im just kidding man, you should have seen the look on your face"
then we started to laugh and talk about how long i've been waiting for the phone.

Then when i got it they had a problem with the test call, reset the phone and it worked.

after awhile they started to test the 3g which wasnt working, it was stuck in 1x for quite awhile, i would say 30 mins. Said if it doesnt work by noon to call this number and tell them whats up. but it started to work
also they were giving battery advise. im guessing the battery life is going to suck haha.

I would also like to ad, when he said "let me go get the phone" he came back with a piece of paper with accessories. im guessing there trying to accessories the new things. does that really work with people? I just got a car charger and some screen protectors. as i needed them. I would of bought an extra battery, but he said they didnt have any

I got mine about 1.5hrs ago. No line, no wait, just walk right up and activate. This thing is awesome.

Short version...

I like it!

Slightly longer version...

-In and out of store quickly. The sales staff were all wearing TBolt Shirts
-Got free spare battery thrown in (being mailed to me). I guess she thought I was cute. No, make that super cute
-It was handed to me fully working before any google configuration (as I prefer)
-Set up ActiveSync/Exchange with Gmail first with my existing gmail account -piece of cake. Automigically downloaded and synced my 700+ contacts and calendar very quickly.
-Set up my work IMAP account - smooth!
-Made a few calls (good sound quality)
-Received a few calls (good sound quality)

Haven't messed with 4G yet...

I was concerned about the volume of the built-in ear-piece speaker and the speaker-phone. Both are GREAT! Plenty of volume. Good sound.

Up and fully functional in no time (i.e. mail, calendar, calls, contacts). Very smooth transition. Better than I had hoped for. Admittedly I had done some prep, making sure my Google gmail account was prepared for sync. All went very well.
