The official "I got my Thunderbolt thread!"

Heres my story.
I was sitting in front of the store at 8:30am. They must of known I was waiting. I didnt have to wait for anybody. They open the door 2 mins early and wave me in. They all gathered around and asked,
vzw "What can we do for you today?"
me "I would like to buy a new phone"
vzw "Which phone are you interested in?"
me "the htc thunderbolt"
vzw "we sold out"
me WHATTTTTT,
vzw "yeah we had a presale at 5am
me i had a amazed look on my face and was thinking of what to do.
vzw, "im just kidding man, you should have seen the look on your face"
then we started to laugh and talk about how long i've been waiting for the phone.

There were 8 of us waiting at the door right before they opened this morning. The manager came around front from back door and asked if we were all there for the Thunderbolt. We said we were, and he said "well, I've got some bad news....I'm afraid we didn't get any Thunderbolts at this store...." After a few seconds he said "...no I'm just kidding...lets get you all signed up." Good to see them all have a sense of humor. We all got in and no one that was waiting at the door for them to open had to wait on a rep....the only delay was waiting for the 3G connection to Activate. I've played with it a lot more over the morning and LOVE it. There's a ton of us here moving off of blackberry's and yeah...huge upgrade. Amazing how much of an upgrade it is for those of us coming of Storm 1's. And yeah...love having a touch screen that's not a button, super fast and accurate.....LOVE IT!

Got mine at 11:30 this morning. It went pretty smooth with my upgrade and activation. Picked up some screen protectors, case w/ holster and a windshield mount. The local Verizon store here in Tifton Ga said they had sold a good amount today and so far everything has went smooth. Also, I did a full benchmark test and came out with a 1621.....WAY past the Nexus S. Happy Thunderbolt Day everyone! This thing is AMAZING!

Im not impressed with the T-bolt.. I have the incredible... and its just as fast as the t-bolt over 3G.... so no reason for me to upgrade... Plus dont have 4g here..


I will pick it up, right before verizon goes to tiered data plans.. but thats only for the plan..

Thanks so much for that! I just got mine -- Bethesda,MD corp store, first thing this a.m.! yay! -- but was surprised that it had no Swype already on board. Thought I heard it would have it standard. Is the beta in Market or is it a side load?

you have to sign up for the beta on the swype website

IIRC, it is currently open

if not, sign up then check back in a week or two, it just kinda showed up one day for me

Oh man, it's been a long time coming. Got a free accessory bundle since the Girl who was so helpful to me was THRILLED that I cancelled my Best Buy pre-order to buy it from her instead!

That means for screen protector, car charger, and double case. Today is a great day.

I'd still take the free TBolt from the contest though!

i have mine....horrible activation experience with local store...time in to time out was over 2 hours......now..on to learning and playing...coming from a Blackberry, this ought to be interesting!!!!!

Same thing happened for me, IDK what took them so long. I demanded they waive the restocking fee for my 5 day old Incredible and they did just that. So worth it though; this phone is insane.

They didn't forewarn you guys? I was told right up front that for certain reasons it was taking up to an hour (took me just about 50 mins) to get the phone going to where they'd be comfortable letting me leave with a working device.

And I didn't really "demand" anything like you guys, since I was overjoyed about the free Accessory bundle she threw in.

Add me to the list. Vzw did a great job. They didn't have case and clip I wanted but the Best Buy did. Picked up a Seido case and clip.
