The official "I got my Thunderbolt thread!"

Got mine from best buy this morn. First in line...Took about an hr n 30 mins to get thru the whole process but this phone was well worth the wait....i love it!!

Got mine from a zcom vzw store, walked in at 10am and waited with some other guy for the two employees to get the devices up and running.. I probably walked out at almost noon, but it wasnt their fault. I actually spent some of that time waiting for the devices to be delivered to the store.

So far so good.. Charged it to full using usb(didnt know this was the slow way I DO NOW haha) stopping at 3:30pm. Some very light use and it is 7pm with im guessing 85% or higher charge.. we'll see how this battery is...

on another note can someone PM me with some "must have!" apps?

Got mine at the mall kiosk in Oxford Valley Pa. I was first in line at 10 am followed closely by 3 more people in search of the Thunderbolt. I walked out the door by 10:35 completely up and running. I did experience the sms/text message strange number issue but that has since been corrected. I loved my og Droid and all of the CM 7 goodness but, this Thunderbolt is AWESOME!

Had the same issue myself.

HAD TO Test The Screen By Scratching With A Key In The Store!

Got mine just about 20min ago. Great feel in the hand.

Now to order the SGP screen protectors.

Before i got mine, i HAD to go over to the Demo when no one was looking and scratch it like 10 times with my key! I know that sounds bad, but I'm coming from a Samsung Vibrant with Gorilla Glass and i wouldn't of been able to bear using a screen protector (Thats def a dealbreaker for me- HATE screen protectors)

soooooo, after 6 or 7 "furious strokes" with my keys (and i mean HARD) i am happy to report not a scratch or even "hairline mark".... May not be Gorilla Glass, but its definitely durable. No screen protector for meeeee...(and glad i dint wind up on COPS...bad boys, bad boys, whatcha gonna do...lol)

BTC :-*

Got mine at BestBuy. Love the phone and coming from BB Tour, I have alot to learn. Will be neglecting my wife entirely for the night.

Could have even been Gorilla Glass (Gorilla my dreams! :) ). There are licensing issues with whether or not a company can use the term "Gorilla Glass" in their descriptions, even if they do. Either way, it's hard!

Got mine today....second one in the store and 2nd T-bolt of the day.

The one thing that bugs me is that they moved the power switch on the top of the phone and the volume rocker to the other (right hand) side! [From the Droid INC's placement]

As a lefty, I loved having those buttons on the left for index finger and thumb access. I now have to learn to be ambidextrous!

BTW, I am in Tampa and the SpeetTest app shows 6Mbps down, 25Mbs (!) up consistently.

Other nice gems in the new SenseUI:

1. When the phone is ringing, you can now switch between Bluetooth, speaker or phone speaker while in call or when the call is ringing - right on the "Caller ID" screen. This is handy when the phone rings and your BT headset is in the other room!

2. The fade animations between apps and screens is subtle but noticeable and slick.

Curious to see what battery life will be like. LOTS TO PLAY WITH!

I'm on the west coast. Got to my vzw store an hour early (located in my mall with nice couches in front of it) and was the only one there. 10 minutes 'till open a lady in her 60's showed up and waited next to me. She wasn't even there for the Thunderbolt though. I brought in a paper showing the 199 price online and it took them 20 minutes to agree to give me that price. I actually got two TB's one has a $50 NE2. So one was $150 and one was $199. =)

Got mine this morning at the store opening. Been loving it so far. I don't live in a 4G area but I am plenty happy with the device.

Earlier this week, my VZW rep had told me that they couldn't hold the phones, even with a deposit, that it was first come, first serve. My plan was to leave work early and make sure that they still had some left when I got there. By 10:00 AM, I couldn't stand it anymore and called over to the store. The rep. wasn't in yet, as she was working the later shift and till close, so I ask the guy that answered, if I could just go ahead and pay for it with a credit card over the phone, now that it had been released. He asked my name and said, I think there is one in the back with your name on it. Sure enough, they had held one for me, but she hadn't called me yet. So, at 2:30 PM, I couldn't stand it and left work early, even though they were holding one for me, and went over and got it. What a piece of work this phone is! No issues so far, but a steep learning curve for me, coming off of an Omnia II. I think it is a keeper.

Ended up getting mine at the Fields Ertel store in Ohio. The Retail Store I was going to get it at for some reason couldn't give me my upgrade even though my 1 year expired in Nov. The corporate store was great, very quick. They got in 50 and only had 5 left when I got there at 4:30pm. Was able to get the phone for $229.99.
