I also just got off the phone with my local Verizon store (Texas). The rep told me it will be Thursday, unless corporate changes things again for some reason. He could not hold one for me, but offered to call me 30 minutes before opening on Thursday to tell me if a) it will be available to buy and b) how long the line is outside the store (since I can't make it there any sooner).

My rep told me the 15th for sure and made an apointment to pick it up first thing Thursday morning. Take it for what it is worth.

I called two different stores just to see what they would say.
1st store- it wasn't officially announced yet
2nd store- check samsung site since it is their phone and they are putting out all the info

Well, I can tell you that my contract end date is 1/12/12, and if a Nexus is not in my hand on that date, I am most certainly leaving VZW.

Not an option for me unfortunately. Don't like the thought of losing my unlimited data and i travel all over the state of Texas which takes me to mostly rural areas a good chunk of the time and no carrier covers the vast rural areas of TX like verizon does. I can say that at&t LTE has performed more reliably for me here in the Dallas area as I think LTE tends to play better with GSM than CDMA but hopefully vzw wit get the kinks worked out over the next several months. Every vzw Lte device i've tried has had data issues. Handoffs between LTE and EVDO being the main pain in the rear. If at&t has their LTE network live in your area the Galaxy S 2 Skyrocket is an attractive option if you can live with tiered data.

Exactly. This was the first time I called either store so its not like I was calling them all the time like some on these forums. I figured that is what I would get anyway.

Perfect pic to describe the situation. That's exactly how I felt when I went into a store today. Sometimes id love to take my personal and 20+ business lines elsewhere lol but it's the network I like, not the company or people.

Thanks for the advice. If my carrier change comes to pass, I'll have to find an appropriate forum in which to inquire about Sprint's coverage and its options as well.

i just called my local Verizon store in South Florida. They still confirmed the 15th as launch day! so hopefully nothing changes between now and Thursday!!!

Verizon rep called to remind me I'm sitting on an upgrade. My gf answered since I'm driving, she told the lady I'm waiting for the nexus and asked when we could get it but the lady just laughed. Wtf do you make of that?

What sucks is I'm still going to be in the field till Friday night and by that time they all will probably be sold out. :/

I'm looking at Sprint, and either a Galaxy S II or a Nexus S.

Called 611 and the rep confirmed that it was delayed, but had no new date to give.

She seemed pretty clueless.
