Maybe I want to stir up drama. ( I say this with sarcasm to pre defend my sharing to the as$holes who will badger me.) Maybe I want to share. Maybe I am a little upset with verizon.
As you can see from my other post about my interactions with verizon I have had my share of ups and mostly downs with verizon. Unfortunately that have me because their service is better than everyone else in Rochester, NY.
I feel as if they know this with most customers and because of this their customer service is severely lacking.
The gentleman in the conversation below said what he was told to say, however telling me nothing, bein indirect, and playing stupid comes from the ranks of CORPO. They need to re-evaluate how they do these releases.
Yes - a date was not release regarding the Nexus relase
Yes - they owe me nothing, they do what they say for the most part
Yes - they have a great network
However they choose to keep the people who are their biggest fans in the dark. Why not be our best friend and tell us things, let us feel like we are part of the company and let us follow your progess.

Spoke with a rep here in Buffalo today who told me although it slated for friday dec 9 release, the device if released will not have flash. They are working to release it with flash so to do so it may not be released until the 14. His store will have be shipped 10 units only. Name was added to the list so 1 will be set aside for me. 8 can be vouched for 2 will be sold first come first serve. Once contacted I have til the end of the business day to pick it up.Good luck![]()
Im also in buffalo (Hamburg). Which store did you go to? Corporate or Retail store?

Yesterday (Sunday 12/4), I spoke to my (reliable contact) local Arden, NC Rep (over the phone) who told that the phone will be available in stores on 12/8 or 12/9. He was speaking to a manager who seemed to be waffling between the 8th and 9th date, she didn't know the preorder date. He is trying to find out when I can do a preorder and will call me back. He said that he will know more Monday or Tuesday. We're getting close, my brothers!

The flash stuff is par for the course with Nexus. My Nexus S 4G didn't ship with flash loaded either. It had to be downloaded.
Sounds like the rep (or someone he has been talking to) is linking flash to the delay which is almost certainly not a factor.
Think about it. He's suggesting VzW would give up a week during the holiday cycle... a week that buyers could be buying the phone just to wait for third party plugins/apps? Nonsense.
people or me do realize that they are just representatives. however if you read my post going in depth about what customer service is the opportunity that verizon has with so many dedicated consumers they cold blow everybody else out of the water with a little bit of information sharing.
but no they decide to keep everybody in the dark and let us all speculate and upset each other.
my thoughts and feelings are well grounded and this isn't just a theory on my part. this is what I feel and think.
maybe we all need to take a step back and realize this is a forum where people can share thoughts ask questions and hopefully not get ripped apart every time they make a post.

If he was talking about a preloaded vzw app than maybe but not for a 3rd party app, because it isn't like the phone won't work without flash...
