SI just updated their tablet app... and it STILL doesnt work on the xoom :(

How are you gonna make a tablet app that ONLY works on galaxy 7" tabs? Not to even mention the fact that SI is part of CNN, who immediately released a slick looking flagship tablet app.

I dont even know why I'm so mad about this, because I have a subscription and all I'm missing out on is a digital version of the same thing I have a print copy of, but they've been teasing us with it for 2 months and I just dont get why they wouldnt want to move forward with content they have already planned for.

On the same note.. I've noticed a very strong lack of sports related apps in general. I think the nerd/sports nerd crossover community is too small to make it worth their while. ESPN scorecenter is the closest thing to any official sports app, and its actually pretty crappy for what it is. Does anyone know of a decent scoreboard widget? It seems like the ones that actually update live have terrible interfaces, and the ones that look functional dont show live scores :(

Works on my xoom. Fills up the whole screen.
 
I just downloaded the New Beta Thumb Keyboard. It is a step above the existing one. It is not take over the entire screen when typing in a field. And some other new features. Do a search for it on the Xoom page on this website. The download link is there.

Some places when you type, the typing area where the words are being displayed take over the screen. Not the keyboard itself. Then you click DONE or NEXT or have to minimize the keyboard.

The BETA version does not do this on any place you can key in information or type. This is an improvement.
 
So I take it you haven't changed that setting. Once I changed it I never saw it take up the whole screen
 
any good chat apps beside gchat?

google talk is sweet for video chat for sure, but anybody know a good text chat/message app for the xoom? On the xoom, when somebody sends me a Gchat message, i have to open and view and respond to the chat in full screen... I'm hoping to find something that will display the message and allow me to respond in a way thats more like a notification... something that will allow me to view/respond to the message without leaving my current screen.

i'm on wifi only- any recommendations?
 
I downloaded the SI app for tablets but I get a FC on any magazine I try to download. Any suggestions to get it running correctly?

Uninstall and then reinstall. It might help you delete any SI stuff you have on xoom.

Oh, haha. I wasn't saying the above app was good or anything. I haven't even installed it. I just stumbled across it and noticed that it was honeycomb optimized so I posted it here.
 
I don't see it mentioned anywhere, but Reckless Racing appears to be optimized for Honeycomb. It actually works better on my Xoom than it does on my Thunderbolt.

Found this today, it doesn't specify Honeycomb yet but it installs and looks like it is made with tablet use in mind.

Are there really no new apps coming out, or is this thread just dead? How many Honey-comb specific apps would you guys say are currently available?
 
There are many, many apps that are compatible with Honeycomb. However, at this time there are not too many that are designed from the ground up to run on honeycomb. Also, the OP doesn't constantly update this thread.
