The one gripe I have on the S7

I love that it has expandable storeage, very useful for me as I like to take advantage of the camera and take pictures and record video, so that sd support is crucial to me. However, I don't like the placement. It's in with the sim card slot, and when I want to change storeage cards, the sim card typically falls out every time. I wish they had designed separate trays for them so that way it couldn't happen, but I'm guessing they had to design it that way due to not being able to place another slot elsewhere. Would liked to have had the sd card to the top right on its own.

It's probably because of the hybrid SIM/microSD reader -- like many other dual SIM phones, the dual SIM version gives you the option to use 2 SIM cards or 1 SIM and 1 microSD: Samsung Galaxy S7 edge Dual Sim & Expandable Memory. Even if you don't have a dual SIM version, they probably keep that overall design to save money on production.
