The rezound is awesome after ICS update!!!!

Yeah I heard the thunder and the dust storm as If i remember right (i was in bed too) it came from the south

Yep, up from where I live in Chandler. We got lot's of dust and just enough sprinkles to make mud. YUK!!!!

by the way; love the ICS update. got the phone that mid day and once the SIM card was installed, got the update notice; perfect timing. Did the FDR before I did the update.

Oh yeah, and I got my first wireless emergency alert from the National Weather Service last night! Of course I was alseep with the phone on silent and slept through the whole storm! LOL!

I believe Skatergirl is also in the Phoenix area; unfortunately I was not asleep, I was watching Netflix on ear buds when the dust storm alert went off and it almost gave me a heart attack!

Ah good ol Chandler. I'm in Ahwatukee

Not much in Gilbert. I saw heat lightning to the south at 8:00, and noticed the update when I woke up at 5:00. I never heard anything sound off and I leave it all maxed out volume wise.

I am sorry that I got a bit of a giggle from your post. I am glad you survived the shock!

Yes, Northwest Valley!

I am in North Phx. I was putting my five year old to bed when all of the sudden an ear splitting alert about a dust storm went off from my phone. Awful.

Oh no!

P.S. There are a lot of us Zoni's here in the forum!

Will have mine delivered on Wed. Certified like new replacing the bolt. Hope comes already with the ICS.

No storm in Cave Creek last night. Just loud winds. Smelled of rain. Not a drop. We usually get pounded too. Didn't sleep well. Glad am not working today.

Overall, I am very pleased with ICS. Only one complaint; my Rezound now drops my wifi connection ALL the time. I find my battery life being sucked down faster than a Chocolate shake from Cookout, and I am constantly having to go into wifi settings and turn it off and back on to reconnect. And sometimes when I am upstairs, it says I am too far away to connect with my home network...NEVER EVER had that happen before. Other than that, love it!

I found it to be a damn fine phone before last week.
Still, I was getting ready to flash the ICS RUU when ICS came...finally.
I have zero complaints about this phone. It is smoother, a bit faster and the battery life is much improved.

"Wednesday, it's going to rain."
"Thursday will be just like Wednesday."
"Friday, it's going to rain."
"Saturday, it's going to rain."
"Sunday, well well, no rain toda... oh wait, spoke to soon, it's going to rain."

Back to OP's topic: yes, it's like a whole new phone on ICS.

Ha ha ... We could say the same thing for the Arizona desert for about eight months:

Hot and sunny!

So I am guessing it might rain on the third Sundays of the month?

I am also happy with the update. My phone runs much faster. My battery life hasn't settled yet. But overall its all good.

I absolutely love the update! My phone does feel a lot fresher and is definitely running more smoothly. And I knew it's a small thing but I'm so happy the pull-down menu background isn't white anymore!

My one complaint: removal of Verizon bloatware is blocked like in the old OS. The Verizon rep promised me it wouldn't be... Who or what exactly do I have to sacrifice to the network gods to get rid of VLA??

You still can't remove the bloat, but you can disable any app you wish to in settings-applications-(app you pick)

I'm glad to have seen this post, I already get alerts from weather bug and they don't override sound settings. I don't need to have a loud alert in an inappropriate setting.

I think you should and their should be a law that makes notifications alerts as loud as possible as a means of public safety. What if their was a tornado or terrorist attack or shooting again... Are you really telling me that you don't want to know about it because you are busy... What if it directly affected you how would you feel then. Oh wait you would not feel anything as you decided the messages are not important and are now well...

Sounds like you need to factory reset the phone as that shouldn't be happening. The way Verizon updated the Phone from GB to ICS never actually should have been done. they should have made it factory after install to stop these issues.
