The S20 hasn't even come out yet, and I'm already disappointed...

Here is one reason I may skip out on the S20 this year and go buy a good used Note 10+ or even a good used S10+. I copied this from a chat via Twitter..

We do have pricing for our well-qualified customers.
-Samsung Galaxy S20 5G 128GB is $0 down, and $41.67 per month for 24 months
-Samsung Galaxy S20+ 5G 128GB is $0 down, and $50 per month
-Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G 128GB is $0 down, and $58.34 per month
I could have a paid off phone and no monthly payments. Heck I could even trade that in for the Note 20 later in the year when that comes out.

Looks like If you want the best of the new phones which is the Ultra you have to pay for it , which I think is wrong if you putting 3 devices with different sizes should be same spec across .

Ha this is funny, what you just said brought something to light.

Samsung is literally pulling an  here with having three different skus all differing in cameras and some lesser features than the big boy, Ultra.

So many people cried fowl when the iPhone 7 Plus had dual cameras and the 7 didn’t. Where is the outrage now?

I mean are we in an alternate universe that  has cut prices, has two different sized models iPhone that pretty much have the same specs across the board and now Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ is pulling this crap?

Haha, you just quoted the outrage right above you. And Samsung fans on Reddit are discussing this very thing.

But I agree, I'm not sure I'd pay 1200 for a plus model that doesn't have what the Ultra does for 200 more. I'm sure Samsung is counting on that.

It's Ultra or bust for me... I just can't get myself to pull the trigger... Yet.

They all do , not just Samsung and Apple .

That's definitely understandable

My point is though that when  did it people screamed from the roof tops but when Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ does it, “oh they’re just offering choices”

I see plenty of people complaining about Samsung right here at Android Central and not many saying its OK, especially with this release. That wont necessarily stop some of us from buying, but that's a different story.

People complain about all the top brands here, though Apple probably doesnt get a fair representation of support or love since it's an Android forum. There's plenty of things Google. LG, Samsung, Apple and the rest do that theres enough detest to go around.

I've given up worrying about this stuff and just buy what I feel like buying and complain a little bit as I drop my cash on the next best thing. I probably should care a bit more but I don't.

The new wave of iPhones since the X are a bit more likeable than years past for me. I like the face unlock on my work Xr. I'm not ready to go out and buy one but its certainly comes out of my commute bag more often than when I had a 7.

Yeah definitely

Agreed. I actually did buy the iPhone XS and love it. I'm debating trading it for the Ultra, and it's a tough decision. If I decide not to, I'll probably keep it until Note 20 time.

You can tell a product or products have reached maturation and are fully commoditized whenever the "enthusiast" forums turn into a cesspool of entitlement, whining, and fanboyism. MacRumors has been this way for years now.

There are sources beyond "muh first Google page" out there with information and samples and you don't even have to look that hard to find them. Again, "enthusiast."

This post of a firmware from Samsung might interest some of you. Also, as the owner of the first iPad with ProMotion (10.5) and the iPad Pro since day one, it's solution for higher refresh offers almost zero impact when compared to these Samsung displays. I've used a mixed bag of the new devices for like 3 days now and its absolutely noticeable. The S20 refresh straight poops on the iPad Pros. That being said, is any tablet other than an iPad worth buying (mobile OS)?

I get what you’re saying, but back then 1 camera was the standard. Now pretty much all phones have 3-5 rear lenses as standard. I do think that Samsung should have implemented identical camera setups across the range...but that would have defeated the point of having the ‘Ultra’. I do expect them to take great photos anyway.

As for the 120hz refresh rate, while I’m not sure that it is completely necessary (90hz would’ve been fine), Samsung did bump up the battery sizes by quite a bit.

i have no disappointment.

this phone is currently better than any other phones out there. if one were to be disappointed at something this good, then one would be wishing for a non-existent phone, aka fantasyland.

This is true. My only real complaints are with color options, and I'm amazed at how many people feel the same. I thought I was the exception in caring about that. Even several well-known tech YouTubers have complained about that. But from a technical and practical standpoint, Samsung stays well ahead of the competition with the S20 line.

Agree about the colors, pink and cloud blue remind me of baby colors that you would paint a nursery? Blue for the baby boy pink for the girl...hahaaaahaa.
Then Grey which seems an okay color...
why not a white? Why not a dark blue?
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, they're very pastel/baby shades. And the grey is so dull and drab... they could have at least made it metallic-looking, or something. Or offer some kind of color-shift like the other options. And the black this year looks like the dummy models that case-makers get pre-launch. At least it's good for hiding that massive camera housing on the Ultra model.

Other, more style-conscious markets like Spain, Italy, others in Europe, and South Korea got Cloud White and Aura Red variants. Super annoying that Samsung wouldn't offer us the same here in the U.S. I would choose white or red in a heartbeat over the options we were given.
