The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll own!

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

AT&T just recently got into the Android game after swearing it off for quite a while. I would not make that switch over something like this. Just my opinion.

I do wish that a carrier would rival Verizon's network and knock them back in place though. There's seriously no competition right now.

That's just it. My BIGGEST draw to AT&T is that I can buy any GSM phone (matching bands of course) and use it without hassle. I can't do that on Verizon so I have to end up dealing with crap like this. AT&T will always be more desirable due to this.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I'll be renting me a Rezound for sure on Monday if the Nexus isn't here. I wan't to avoid being billed for another month of T-Mobile service so I can't wait anymore on Verizon to get their act together. If they don't like it they can change their return policy.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I almost made the switch to Verizon for this and now I'm glad I stayed with ATT and pre-ordered the GSM version with a ship date of next friday. Three things really bother me about the VZW version:

-Still has bloat (not true to nexus)
-Has VERIZON written on the back
-The release debacle that is taking forever

Does the bloat or verizon wording on the back not bother you guys?

Bloat kind of does. It takes away from what the phone is about. It's quite disgusting how Verizon gets their dirty hands in everything.

Verizon logo on back....not so much.

Yeah, that does make it more desirable. Would the HSPA+ work though? Don't they use different frequencies (or whatever) in Europe?

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I am sick and tired of this waiting game. One month later and we still don't have so much as a whisper from Verizon. First the 3rd, then the 7th, then the 11th, 18th, 21st, 28th, now the 8th? THIS IS ABSURD. UTTERLY ABSURD.

All the dates are rumored. VZW is getting free advertising by not giving a date and having this "rumor mill"

The 8th looks like the date, its not a big deal.

And you know what is also rumor driven the bloatware issue. One of the Apps is from the market. Backup Assistant is most likely a requirement for a device to be sold on the network.

This. And why worry what someone else says, a rumor will will go as far as you throwing the person who said it.. Just wait for the damn thing.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Okay guys relax. Yes it sucks that Verizon rumor is set now at December 8th. It bothers you more because other carriers in the UK are getting this phone but you think is Verizon's problem? If Sprint got a LTE model it will take some time as well but more importantly its a rumor. They never publicily came out and said Galaxy Nexus in November. They just said end of the year. And it you can't wait 3 days or 18 days then that's messed up. I don't care what phone you have, you can get by. People have lived without smartphones longer than 18 days.

This phone is gonna rock but its just a phone. If Verizon came out and guaranteed you today and you don't get it until a month, I understand but its Verizon .... you honestly surprised. The galaxy s2 came out in UK in May. MAY!!!!!!! And when did us carriers get it? SEPTEMBER. Talk to them how it feels.

Sorry for the rant but its Friday ...enjoy the weekend.

Last time I checked google is a US company you would think they want to advertise their brand new OS in the US first. The sgs2 wasn't a nexus phone. just saying.

I don't care for it at all but, am willing to accept it, if they would just release the phone.

I'm not sure about HSPA+ but honestly their 3G speeds are plenty fast for my mobile use.

I also kept the phone number of the nice gal that helped me. I figured if I ever needed it again I would go straight to the top instead of dealing with the low level lackeys in customer service.

The good thing is that once you complain to Executive Customer Service, they aren't supposed to close the ticket until the complaint is resolved.

Sent from my Droid, the only mobile OS that matters.

I remember watching one of the UK guys video on Youtube. I think he said it was HSPA+ and, you could see the H symbol on his phone. However I'm not totally sure because H can meen 3G also.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

i agree VZW is just being totally stupid. There is truly no excuse! it doesn't matter whether they haven't given a date or not. they know there are customers out there going nuts. All they have to do is give out some info. whether it is perceived as good or bad. it doesn't matter whether it wasn't available until December 29th. They have people in marketing that could put a positive spin on a delay. it takes nothing to do this, yet they repeatedly bomb on releases over and over.

"hello nexus fans, we appreciate your un-dieing support and understand you are all anxious to get your hands on the most advanced android phone ever released. we want to make sure our customers get the best experience possible from the moment they first turn this incredible device on. as with any new cutting edge technology there are final tweaks and revisions to ensure the experience our customers expect. Please hang in there while we put the finishing touches on the Worlds first Android ICS device powered by the nations most powerful network."

Donesky! All they need to do is show a little respect to their customers. i give these guys $200 per month. $200 per month!!!!!! that is half my car payment! WTF show me some effing respect!

I blame Google just as much, if not more than Verizon. They made such a rookie move handing over their best phone with the latest and greatest OS over to Verizon without making sure it is released before, or at least by, the busiest shopping weekend of the year. I might be able to understand this move if it was just a phone, but the fact is its a major upgrade of their OS.....what where they thinking?? If Verizon couldn't commit to releasing it by Black Friday then they should have opened it up to all the carriers. This would put pressure on everyone to release it as quick as possible.

I agree, mostly about them opening it to all carriers. That would have been the best way. I was really excited at the idea of Verizon getting a Nexus phone but, I had no experience with their crappy launches like most of you.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Last time I checked. Google is a high profit generating company based in the US. They do whatever they do whatever makes them most successful. They don't care about patriotic loyalty. They had the galaxy nexus presentation was in CHINA!!! They are a business and if I can sell ICS effectively I will
Sell it whomever. Europe is Europe. Verizon paid Google millions for exclusivity that doesn't mean they have to sell it right away. Its not a race, they know ATT and T-Mobile can't get it.

But you based your hopes and dreams on what? Nerd spyware? Some screenshots and a guy who knew a guy who had a drank at a bar who wrestles with the VP of marketing ...OMFG!! BBQ rumor confirmed! !

You raised your own expectations only to know you will get burned. They never officially announced the date so just wait until it's official. It's only several more days.

And SGS2 was launched in Europe and Korea the same time. These days...it doesn't matter. Its all about how to make money. More people in Korea only think there is a sgs1 and have iPhones.I was just there.

I will wait for the Verizon Nexus, but if ATT does get it in a week or so I'll get a non-tattooed battery cover from the closest ATT store.
