The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll own!

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I've calmed down now and, may still get the VZW GN. If it doesn't release online Monday, I'm going to try and, forget about it for now and, enjoy the holiday with family.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Has anybody thought about the fact that Verizon may need to some extra testing since it's a CDMA/LTE version - the ones already released (plus all the demo models) are all GSM. Maybe they don't want another Thunderbolt mess. Just saying. And I'm sure Verizon is giving Google some money for the exclusivity. I still think it's great that Verizon is getting a Nexus (no Nexus 1 or Nexus S). Does it really matter if Verizon considers Backup Assistant important for customers coming from another Verizon phone and is everybody really wrapped around an axle about the My Verizon app. All you people threatening to quit are just making empty threats because if you were going to switch for a phone you would have left a long time ago for any number of nicer phones on other carriers. Verizon has the Best Voice network, most reliable 3G coverage (notice I didn't say fastest) and most LTE markets. I don't think Verizon is all that worried about the 0.01% of their customers that are on this forum. I think they're going to sell a ton of Razrs and Rezounds (both of which are very nice phones on their own) and I don't think the average Verizon customer will be unhappy with any of the 3 new superphones on Verizon.

In regards to them still testing CDMA/LTE...I thought about it, read about it, but I'm not buying it as the hold up. This reeks of corporate politics and inept product scheduling. I personally don't mind the Dec. 8th date but that's probably because my phone is recent. I can see how others with phones that are falling apart would be frustrated.

I also agree on Verizon's network on being the best. I just can't switch back to AT&T. Their network was unreliable back then and it's unreliable still today (according to three of my family members with loads of dropped calls). Oh yes, almost forgot about my unlimited data. No way am I giving that up.

As far as the Verizon logo goes, it also is not a huge deal to me even though I brought it up. BUT, I just see it as another one of these little control things that VZW does to intentionally piss us off. They know exactly what they are doing and what they are doing is turning this device into a semi-nexus.

Even Panda tweeted that this is no longer a Nexus thanks to VZW.

In the hospital I work at, only ATT and Verizon work. all the other carriers (sprint, t-mobile, metroPCS all work right outside the hospital). My Co-worker has ATT and all is fine in the hospital, but complains of drop outs and crappy signal all the time. I'm not leaving verizon over this phone... am I upset, absolutely. Are they greedy, absolutely. Can they get away with it and take my money, absolutely.

Okay I have vented and will probably vent again but I am going to be positive. The GN is an awesome phone.

It is a shame that Verizon is ruining the experience for everyone, or maybe it is not Verizon but those leaking the information. Imagine if this launches for web only orders on Monday all this will be for nothing.

I am going to take a wait and see approach and try to stay out of these forums for a couple days. Too much DRAMA.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I've said it before and I'll say it again, when you believe rumors you are setting yourself up for disappointment.

The only date Verizon has ever given us was "Later this year" and last I checked it was still 2011.

I want this phone as much as the next guy, but sitting around screaming at Verizon over something they never even promised is a little silly.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I am sick and tired of this waiting game. One month later and we still don't have so much as a whisper from Verizon. First the 3rd, then the 7th, then the 11th, 18th, 21st, 28th, now the 8th? THIS IS ABSURD. UTTERLY ABSURD.

And NOW it comes to light that the reason to delay till the 8th is to GET A PIECE OF BLOODY BLOATWARE TO WORK!?!?!?!?

I HAVE HAD IT!

If anyone knows a surefire way to annoy the living hell out of Verizon corporate, I'd love to hear it. Otherwise, I'd like to see who else is with me in deeming the Galaxy Nexus their last Verizon phone ever.

Rumor or actual verifiable information? If verifiable, please post link to information.
There are more rumors floating around the internet as to why this phone is not released and no one has any information showing Verizon ever gave an actual release date. Note, I say VERIZON gave an actual release date.

@P3Droid P3Droid
WTF, Nexus is not delayed due to MyVerizon.apk or BackupAssistant, the phone is drop dead ready !!!

Seems like they are just sitting on it due to poor razr/rezound sales

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Will it be the last nexus device Verizon gets?

Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk

I said it in another thread. I think this will be the first and last Nexus device Verizon gets.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

As someone who anticipated a December release date, I am will be quite happy if the GN is available on 12/8. If waiting a few extra days for a phone (that has never even had an official release date) causes a person so much grief I'd be tempted to say that that person has a pretty warped sense of perspective. Maybe try focusing more on what you have and can control than what you want and cannot control. Just sayin'...

But hey, when you buy a car at a dealership, you do get that dealer's name printed SOMEWHERE on it (on the back, on the license plate frames, etc.). How many people are complaining about that all day long?

No need. They happily remove it on request.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I find it funny how people get so worked up about dates that are just rumors. I used to work at big red, and I found it freaking hilarious when people got all upset on something that wasn't officaly announced. Iphone? been there, Droid x? Done that. ip5? OMG.

Seriously people need to chill out. Rumors are just that, RUMORS. everything that has been leaked or speculated upon has been just that, SPECULATION!

I have worked for Verizon Wireless for five years, and get so much entertainment from people like you. Those dates you mentioned? Never been confirmed by Verizon Wireless.

When will people like you ever realize that there are no official dates until the company releases them? And all of this over a phone? I have read the ridiculous threats of porting/leaving because of a phone not being released since the intro of the Blackberry Storm. Use some common sense and realize everything is speculation until the company releases a date.

It's nice to see some civility!

I agree that some posters have been over the top but you're obviously not one of those OG Droid owners anxiously waiting to see if the Nexus drops before the current phone dies.

As to the subject of this thread, my next phone will be a Nexus of some sort, as will the one after that. Which network that's on is entirely up to Verizon. The Rezound and Razr (lol) aren't worth my consideration.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

My only issue with this phone's release continuing to move closer toward Christmas is that my disposable income will dry up due to gift-giving. If Verizon wants my money before January, they need to kick this thing out in the next 2 weeks. After 12/9, all of my disposable income goes to gifts and charities.

Bloatware? If we got by the all the stuff that bloated the Fascinate ---Bing (pukes on floor) and so forth, this is nothing in comparison. Physical form of phone, I might like the Rezound better, but ICS is the deal maker. No telling when Rezound might get it.

I have an HTC Eris that won't even connect to VZW's 3G network and won't send picture texts. So yeah, I am really in want (not "need" because I can still make/receive texts and calls) of a new phone here. However, whining and freaking out regarding things over which I have no control is not my style. The phone will be released and these few weeks anticipating the pending release will all be forgotten. There are worse things in life than waiting for a new toy.
