The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll own!

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Last time I checked. Google is a high profit generating company based in the US. They do whatever they do whatever makes them most successful. They don't care about patriotic loyalty. They had the galaxy nexus presentation was in CHINA!!! They are a business and if I can sell ICS effectively I will
Sell it whomever. Europe is Europe. Verizon paid Google millions for exclusivity that doesn't mean they have to sell it right away. Its not a race, they know ATT and T-Mobile can't get it.

But you based your hopes and dreams on what? Nerd spyware? Some screenshots and a guy who knew a guy who had a drank at a bar who wrestles with the VP of marketing ...OMFG!! BBQ rumor confirmed! !

You raised your own expectations only to know you will get burned. They never officially announced the date so just wait until it's official. It's only several more days.

And SGS2 was launched in Europe and Korea the same time. These days...it doesn't matter. Its all about how to make money. More people in Korea only think there is a sgs1 and have iPhones.I was just there.

So you have some indsider info saying it is only a few days? Cuz all the "nerd spyware" as you call it is saying dec 8th now. By my calculations that is more than several more days.

Yeah I think I'm going to just cancel my service with Verizon since you can just import one to AT&T. I am pretty let down that the Verizon version my have bloat ware. I'm sorry but the 2 best phones out are the GS2 and the Nexus, neither of which are on Verizon.

I wish verizon would have just gotten the sgs2. At least we would have a phone by now and even though it would have bloat it is getting lots of love with developers.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

^^ Amen, why make this your last VZW phone, why not make your current phone your last??

Because I am stuck on my family's plan until I move out next year (college)

Otherwise I'd have told Verizon to **** off already...

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Its not the 18th and if it's not the 21st and it really is the 8th. It doesn't matter if it's several days or a week or more. To everyone here it seems to be eternity anyways. Its like you can't breathe without this phone.

Just relax...it will come. Its only a phone. Rumors should be enticing and exciting but to blame Verizon with this much hatred over the lack of communication because you must know everything is ridiculous. Just breathe. God, what's next year gonna be like? People jumping off bridges haha

The horror! Verizon logo on the back. The end of civilization as we know it!

I wonder how many buy their Chevy or Ford or BMW and demand the logo be removed?

the only difference is verizon doesn't make the phones. I expect the manufacturer to have their logo on it. Poor comparison on your part.

Will it be the last nexus device Verizon gets?

I honestly would not care if it was. Bring on the sgs3 or future high end samsung devices and everyone will be happy.

But hey, when you buy a car at a dealership, you do get that dealer's name printed SOMEWHERE on it (on the back, on the license plate frames, etc.). How many people are complaining about that all day long?

I personally remove all of those "free advertisements" from my vehicles as soon as I get them in my garage. If I can manage to do that with this Verizon logo, I will. My personal choice - nothing against Verizon.

I bought a new car three months ago. I paid cash for the car. All dealer advertising, logos, and name (license plate holders) were replaced or removed before the car left the lot. That is always part of the deal for me adn I give them no option if they want me to buy that car from them. if they want free advertising on MY car they can pay me for it.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

^ heh this is what my dad does too. But I would never let the dealer remove these the stuff on the paint. They will just ruin it. I rather use proper techniques other then nail it off and ruin the paint.

While I could care less about a Verizon logo on my phone, I take dealer license plate frames and stickers off before I leave the lot. I've even made them take it off for me before.

How can it be free advertising if they pay you for it? I could see if they wanted paid advertising they would pay your for it. Or if they wanted free advertising they would not pay you for it. But wanting free advertising and paying you for it doesn't make sense. You should call the dealer back and get that clarified.

But I can relate to paying cash, my credit is bad too. I would prefer the 0% financing and invest my money in something. Like free advertising.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

Has anybody thought about the fact that Verizon may need to some extra testing since it's a CDMA/LTE version - the ones already released (plus all the demo models) are all GSM. Maybe they don't want another Thunderbolt mess. Just saying. And I'm sure Verizon is giving Google some money for the exclusivity. I still think it's great that Verizon is getting a Nexus (no Nexus 1 or Nexus S). Does it really matter if Verizon considers Backup Assistant important for customers coming from another Verizon phone and is everybody really wrapped around an axle about the My Verizon app. All you people threatening to quit are just making empty threats because if you were going to switch for a phone you would have left a long time ago for any number of nicer phones on other carriers. Verizon has the Best Voice network, most reliable 3G coverage (notice I didn't say fastest) and most LTE markets. I don't think Verizon is all that worried about the 0.01% of their customers that are on this forum. I think they're going to sell a ton of Razrs and Rezounds (both of which are very nice phones on their own) and I don't think the average Verizon customer will be unhappy with any of the 3 new superphones on Verizon.

I'd have switched ages ago if I could, but I don't wanna lose my unlimited data, and even if i were to switch to tmo or sprint, i would have to leave my phone at home if i were to visit my family, since only verizon and at&t exist up there, and at&t is a fart, especially up there.

honestly, I've considered pay-as-you-go, especially something like simple mobile where I can just pay full retail for high-end phones and stick their sim card in, but again, no service back in my hometown.

Re: The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will be the last Verizon Phone I'll

I cant stand this whining.

Also I feel bad for anyone that chooses their phone over their carrier.. I'm not with Verizon because of the Nexus.. it's because the serivce is unmatched in my area by any of the carriers.. I chose my carrier first based on quality of the network in my area.. So Verizon is my carrier.. then I look at the phones it offers and pick the best one available.. which happens to be the Nexus.

Some of you that are so worked up over this that you feel the need to call, email, twit, threaten, whine, repeat really need to chill..

Unlocked lte devices are what I would love. Every since switching to Verizon, I've envied gsm users who were able to import all the awesome stuff from overseas and just sim swap. This is probably still a few years out and I doubt Verizon will ever allow a device they didn't green-light on their network.
