The (un)official #tm13 anticipation/speculation post

The hype has begun. Mobile Nations is teasing us with #tm13. It's coming! It's big! Only we don't know what it is (yet).

So I decided to start this post. If we put our collective heads together we might be able to figure out what tm13 is. At least we'll have fun in the process. So post your thoughts, ideas, wild speculation. It's all welcome. Maybe we'll even get some editors or staff to chime in.

Here's what we know so far. These are only the facts.

It's called TM13 or #tm13, and Mobile Nations is hyping it up as a big deal. This teaser post has appeared on the 4 of the Mobile Nations sites (not on webOS Nation) Get ready for #tm13 | Android Central See teaser video below...

From the teaser post/video:

• Phil (Android Central), Alex (iMore), Kevin (Crackberry), and Daniel (WPcentral) are there in New York City. (Derek of webOS Nation does not appear in the video.)
• John P and Cali Lewis ofGeekBeat.TV are also there.
• The "Smartphone Round Robin" was mentioned several times in the video, Alex and Kevin says that they are taking the Round Robin it to another level.

My speculation.

Several mentions of the Smartphone Round Robin suggest that the Editors will be swapping or reviewing other devices/operating systems.

There seems to be a big emphasis on video. John P and Cali Lewis mention needing someone who has more experience on video. Phil getting makeup.

Kevin and/or Daniel say take a gander at our hosts. Will John P and Cali Lewis be hosting tm13? There's a pic on Breaksclusive.com that shows the 4 editors sitting in a semi-circle around a table with what appears to be John P and Cali Lewis sitting on a couch facing them. It almost looks like a talk show format.

Production values seem especially high for a Mobile Nations video. There's a set. They rented a location (hotel) for a week. There are professional makeup artists (which seems to imply that other professional are involved. Grips? Cameramen? Video editors? Directors?) Apparently it was worth flying Alex there from the UK.

Phil said there's more coming in the weeks and months ahead, so apparently they are producing enough content to space out its delivery. Or maybe just the tm13 experience will inform content created in the future. Also hardware related content won't be relevant in months, so it's probably not just about hardware, or even software.

That's all I got at the moment ... anticipating the next teaser.

For some reason I'm thinking #TM13 stands for "Team Mobile 13" or "Team Mobile Nations 13".

Definitely excited to see what is in store for all Mobile Nations sites in the coming weeks/months.

I don't know what PH1 is but I think the most important part of that statement is "already". Phil didn't say that he found them arguing. He said he found them already arguing. That seems to imply that discussion/arguing is part of #tm13

I'm still thinking it's some kind of talkshow format or "super podcast" (I just coined that term, but I will sell the rights if anyone wants it. )
Also between twit pics, Google+, and Breaksclusive, I've noticed at least 3 different outfits on Cali. Wardrobe changes? Multiple episodes? (The guys probably changed too, but I guess I didn't pay as much attention to them.) Seems to go with the idea of spacing out the content.

Edit: Still not exactly sure how the Smartphone Round Robin thing fits in, and how much content will be created. .................. How much round robin-ing can they do in a week. It would take longer than that to really get a feel for the OS's that you're not already used to. Maybe they're making one episode for each OS? Hmmmm?

I was thinking it might be a set of videos, either stand alone or to go in the upcoming app. Possibly an ongoing video series as has already been suggested. This could just be them building the base of the whole thing and future videos could be done more casually, even without the team all being in one place. No matter what it turns out to be, I'm excited.

I don't believe the app connection. The new app is specific to Android Central. #tm13 is all of Mobile Nations, not just AC.
