[THEME] Nexus V

So far so good ice. What would it take to get a circle battery mod on the next update?

Seems I'm getting random reboots too. Not running any over clocking software. Twice since I installed which was the last post I did in this thread.

Gonna keep monitoring this to see if it happens again. So far nothing, only happened while my batter felt warmer than usual while on the charger. Was also using the phone normally putting it through a few paces. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the cpu being used full throttle. Currently unplugged and little use from me; no reset yet.

Im working on the circle battery mod and I will look into the reboot/recovery menu mod.
The theme installed well, so I tried to take framework-res.apk file and update the battery icon with the cooker at UOT Kitchen

Unfortunately, the cooker can't quite accept/modify the framework file from the Nexus V theme, so we'll wait for the custom implementation of the round icons :)

I added a second version with the circle battery. Ill keep monitoring for any more reboots, i'm personally overclocked to 825 and haven't had a reboot yet with v2, and thats after using Angry Birds and anything else I can try to do to get it to crash. Ill be adding a few more things over the next few days, hopefully the themed Settings and Mms back, the GB keyboard, and working on Phone app as well.

The battery icon works great, thank you!

Can't wait to see what neat implementations we see next! With all this modding we do, a Power menu featuring Reboot/Recovery will be sure to get lots of use! An instructional thread, for reference: [REF] How to add Reboot to power menu (updated 10/21/2010) - xda-developers

i love this theme, but i'm getting random restarts too, and im running v2, I'm about to overclock to a similar clock speed and see if that helps any, but as of right now, i'm still having reboots, I may try and re-flash it to see if that helps any also.

Been using v2 with battery mod since yesterday evening, not one reboot. Could it be a lack of clearing cache that is causing some?

apparently the rom/kernel im using wont allow me to OC, and i'm using the one provided in the XDA Dev thread how to root the optimus V, what kernel are you using that allows you to OC?

I got a lot of fc's and random reboots with this theme while using launcherpro. I restored everything then used a gb launcher from the market. No fc's so far and no reboots. I'm wondering if launcherpro was the cause. Won't know unless I get another random reset.

*Just removed the them, gonna try the update with the circle launcher.

anyone experience and reboots while using the default launcher? i experienced FC's and random reboots while using the theme and using Go Launcher EX but then i restored and went to gingerbread launcher and had no problems, but i have a thing about just simply using the default launcher, so i'm using that now, and i'll report on how it turns out.

EDIT: just as i submitted this i had a reboot for no reason. i think i'm just going to nix the theme for good. I love it to death and it's amazing, but i guess my phone doesnt like it as much as i do.

i got it to work the theme v2 i tired to install the dock and icons for launcher pro but is asking me for an update script and also i cant see the time on the top bar am i missing something

Would you know why the framework-res.apk might not be able to be edited? I've been attempting some mods so have been trying to decompile>compile, and have not been able to with APKmanager.

Just to confirm, I took my original framework-res.apk and was able to decompile>compile and edit liberally without any issue...

For reference, here's the APKmanager logfile attached. Much appreciated

Decompiling and Recompiling an edited framework can be tricky if not every png is perfectly formatted. It appears some of the pngs arent exactly correct, i'll look into it, most of those that are erroring are ones I didn't even touch, just copy and pasted from the Optimus S Gingerbread theme.

Also to anyone having issues, make sure both data and system are mounted when flashing, maybe even try clearing the dalvik-cache manually.

hey quick questions here. How do you make this update.zip? Does it have to be zipped in any special way? Also what do you use to modify the .apks? Do you completely extract and recompress them? I'm working on mac so it's a little more difficult for me to use things like 7zip as all we get is p7zip and it's command line :P.
