There are still brand new V20s on eBay

Yeah probably after I get bored of the V20. The only thing keeping me back from the V30 is trying to get a glass screen protector installed.

I would've probably upgraded to the V30, but I decided I liked the removable battery more. And frankly, I was happy and still am.

Now that I am looking at Samsung 9+, though, that has a size factor I really like, If I'm going to give up removables, that might compensate. I might wait for 10+ though. Also, I'm wondering how long it takes before the 5g networks really roll out. I'd like not to buy something in 2019 that is obsolete three months later. :)

Lack of a glass screen protector would never keep me from buying a phone.

With phones averaging $1000 the majority of people would feel better by knowing they could protect their fragile screens with just a few bucks. I think people want to keep their phones for a longer period of time, tired of always buying new phones.

The cost of the phone is not indicative of the cost to repair. Glass protectors do little to prevent breakage. I have insurance for that....I need a protection from scratches and plastic film does an excellent job.

Glass absorbs the impact if an object hits it, but you're right it depends on how it falls. Once you go glass, you can't go back. Glass feels much better and is more durable, plastic gets scratched up too quickly and tends to gather oil easier and lift. Apple was smart and designed their phones to allow a tempered screen protector, probably due to the fact they usually get royalty from accessories. CEO's don't really care and they probably use their phones without a case because they get a free phone every year, meanwhile normal people don't have that kind of money to burn.

I upgraded from V10 to Note 4 when the former bricked itself. From Note 4 I went to Samsung S8 plus. Did not like it all that much and went to Note 4 again.

Samsung Note 4 are about $100 on Ebay, in like new condition.

My next device will be V20 once it drops to the same price range.

It depends on the plastic. The wet film applications aren't bad and some of them are self healing.

I am sure there will be new LG V20 on Ebay 2 years from now

Just as there are new (and 4 year old ones) samsung galaxy note 4 on ebay rignt now

Every phone I buy goes right in a case. Glass is more likely to shatter in the case than plastic so I prefer plastic. Metal is fine but I do miss wireless charging. It is the only feature I miss from my Note 3 to V20. Well.... I miss the multicolor led notifications too but the V20 is way faster and lighter to carry.

Show me one now let alone 2 yrs from now. I've looked. They are fakes or have bad reviews.

I recently got a NIB Samsung Note 4 -- off Ebay. That is a 4 year old phone.

Of course there will be NIB/mint/used LG V20 on Ebay when the design is 4 years old. Why wouldn't there be?

The phone I have is mint. Trouble is I don't trust ANY of the ones claiming to be. You read the reviews and it's scary.

You have to look at the feedback.

Does the guy specialize in phones or has a high FB because he sold 10,000 pencils?

I just bought a v20 from eBay for $259 from Topurch. I just sent him a message asking if it's the u.s. unlocked with the FM radio, so I'm waiting to hear back but hopefully it is and he says it's new and comes in "its" box so hopefully this will work. He has good ratings.

I'll be damned if I'm going to buy a phone for $1,000 plus tax plus insurance. Or,even $850 plus tax and insurance. how much more am I going to get out of those phones then I will get out of a v20. Quite frankly my Note 4 is fine if Samsung only knew how to fix it. They're Plano repair facility is just dreadful.
