Lol, Jobs. I can't believe that it might actually be true.. Was there a contract signed by Verizon to not put out a phone within the iPhone or does this have to deal with the iPad2??

Why would Verizon allow themselves to be used like that by Apple? Apple needed Verizon more than Verizon needed them.

Thanks but what "preparation". Is it the ad campaign? Or logisitics it getting units to stores? What needs to be "worked out"? I really appreciate what you're doing but I just feel so, not even frustrated, but more disprespected because I simply need a new phone and I just want to know when I can get what I want. I don't want to have to settle. I mean I would even be happy to know that this deafening silence is part of the ad campaign which is all about lightning striking. Can you confirm at least that much?

OK, I have been lurking for a while now. I was using a Storm 2, but I bought a DX (my first Android) on February 27 from Best Buy. I can return it within 14 days and cancel my contract and go back to the Storm, or I can return it within 30 days for another phone on the same contract. I really want the Thunderbolt.

Bennnnn, would you recommend that I return the phone before Sunday and go back to my Storm, thereby preserving my upgrade price once the contract is reversed (takes 3-4 business days); or would you suggest just waiting until the TB comes out (keepiing in mind that if it isn't released before March 29th and I haven't turned in my DX, I am stuck with it.)

Just to make it easier:

If It comes out before 3/12/01, I will just hold on to the DX until the Release of TB.

If it comes out between 3/13 and 3/17, I will hold on to the DX until the Release of TB. (But only if there has been an announcement or verification from Bennnnn).

If it comes out after 3/17, I will turn in the DX and go back to my storm until the Release of the TB.

Bennnnn. Which would you do if you were in my position?

what's left to work out?

1. Prepare Device stockpile for shipment to stores
2. Calculate how many units should go to each region, store etc.
3. Prepare a press release
4. Contact media to schedule a press event
5. Prepare advertising blitz / re-schedule ads to be aired
6. Release date announcement / press shots / press release released
7. ThunderBolt day!

On another note, Mission 11 is referring to the internal Verizon 2011 plan

last year they had what was called "Top Secret 6" which launched 6 new devices in a single period. This year its looking to be 11 devices, nearly on par with AT&T's 12 device launch plan.

People need to remember this is just a phone and there was no HARD release stating it would be out by now. Only promos that were taken down and rumors. It does not help anybody to spam Verizon's Twitter and Facebook accounts a million times over - you're just pissing them off. Why would you want to do that? If you play nice, they'll play nice.

Everybody take a deep breath and relax. Be5n said soon and 3/17 is still 9 days out. We'll get there soon. No need to riot.

As I said earlier, I'll fill you guys in, the minute I get the go ahead. There is no need to worry or get annoyed by this. You will have this iconic device in your hands in no time.

Is no one picking up on the fact that he has now said at least twice that he will give us more details as soon as he gets the go ahead! That means that he is just leaking information with Verizon's approval, maybe even Verizon's way of trying to calm down the natives.

I was a defender of Ben^5 up until now but I realize, at this point, that Ben is giving us the official Verizon un-official info. Not really giving us inside information but only giving us the info that Verizon wants us to have.

I'll give it a couple more days and then I'm moving on. I won't be threatening to leave Verizon because they have the best network where I need it but my official view of Verizon has gone from a positive one to this: "Verizon, kiss my a$$".
