Just for the sake of Bennnn's defense, he acknowledged that the launch date was internally moved to March 17. He did not.wait till the 10th to be a dud and then change the date. If Verizon internally decides to change the date, then I don't think it is his fault. That's the problem with leaks. Leaks come out before they are finalized. And then things can change. Atm, I don't have any hopes for the 10th.

I'm not attacking Bennn at all. I really did enjoy his riddle thread. A lot. Bennn provides hope, like belief in life after death does. Haha

It's like gods, I neither believe nor disbelieve. It's a non factor.

This! People want Bennn to not only be right but also stop it from slipping. He doesn't control that guys. He called the date moving as soon as it happened.

As for his job... he took a chance that not everyone on the internet is untrustworhy. Think of all the sources the bloggers have... including BMX... someone has to know who he really is... same goes from Bennnn.

He is legit.

I think if you read back a few pages you will see that Bennnn himself said the scheduled release date for this device was scheduled for March 17th all along, and they were actually trying to release it earlier than that hence the other release dates that have been coming out. So he again restated that the device is still on schedule for the March 17th release date.

Hopefully he is correct, because I will be buying one on March 17th.

I've been on these boards for a while and never heard anything about the March 14 release date. Did you mean Feb?

I used to work for VZW. I still have access to the internal system and eROES. I could know that way. But I don't.

At the very least, I want to see a picture of Bennnn in a suit. That way, we'll know if he has a high powered job. hehe

I think I trust him more than a LOT of other people spreading rumors in this section of the forum right now.

Sorry guys I've been pretty busy with family stuff this weekend, but I'll try to be on later tonight to answer questions.

Just to clarify for all those who are confused, I'll try to explain this situation to the best of my knowledge:

Well before CES was even hosted, Verizon had an official hard launch date of March 17th for the HTC Thunderbolt. As more phones were being announced and pushed onto the market that rivaled the Thunderbolt, Verizon scheduled an early push for this phone, February 14th. Due to arising problems with battery life on 4G LTE services, this initial early push date was missed and rescheduled for a later date, March 10th. Today we were informed that this phone was not completely ready for a launch date as early as March 10th, and cancelled all early launch plans, reverting back to the initial date of March 17th.

Hope this clears up some questions.


EDIT: Delay has nothing to do with the iPad. They are two separate device categories.

I think I believe Bennnnn a little more than some of you.

Think of it this way, if he's not an insider of any sort (he doesn't have to be a FA), and he's just a joe shmo who is having fun with us, then he's a real sick human being. Especially to be toying with us for this long.

I believe he's on the inside though I also feel pretty sure his name isn't Ben and he's not a FA, he's probably in a different department. Think of it...would you tell everyone your job position but only change your name? (unless forum member 'the deceiver' can say I'm wrong).

If the deceiver said he's legit (a few times already), then I'll continue to roll with that.

As for everyone else thinking he's not legit, If I were Bennnn, I would only relay the information privately to the people he knows believes him and fiddle diddle with the non-believers.

He doesn't owe us anything, he doesn't need to prove anything, the fact he has info that is 99% legit and not like everything else on the interweb could mean he's telling the truth or he's having fun playing games with us.

I choose to believe him because I WANT to, I'm not a pessimist, although I lived my life that way, Its not the right way to live or act.
