Well I have some fuel to add to that iPad 2 release fire

this came from an inside source, not going to reveal anyone and i don't have proof but i believe them, especially given how Apple operates

this also shows there scared of there competition getting the better of them.

the latest info is, Apple told Verizon to not release anything within 10 days of the iPad 2 and 10days after it was out, but i think they got a little lenience from Apple since pushing it past the 17th would be shooting themselves in the foot becuase of CTIA on the 22nd, the following Tuesday, where HTC is expected to show off the EVO3D/ EVO View and T-mobile's Double Shot and Pyramid phones. And when HTC got wind of that push back due to the iPad 2, that ad removal rumor started to float around.

Seriously though, I admire HTC for puting up with crap like this, and they still trail Apple in marketshare even when being double crossed.

then I also heard that the whole delay rumor business is just there marketing ploy, if anyone recalls late last year Verizon signed up the company responsible for the viral advertising of the Droid 1 and Droid franchise marketing materials (ie ads/signage/theme sound)

its beginning to look like while it was infact a viral marketing stunt to gain hype this entire time, it wasn't accounted for that the phone might run into actual delays due to LTE not being ready because of Verizon using half of its network team to tune the old 3G network for the Fruit release.

then we have the launch window completely open for the ThunderBolt's release on the 10th, and Apple swoops in and gets Verizon to push it back to the original non-early date.

NOTE: THIS IS SPECULATION but I wouldn't put it past Apple and Verizon to do this, notice all the effort there giving to Fruit now over there own products?

I think this is also another reason why crApple isn't even trying to make better devices besides slight upgrades, because they can say it has something and twist the facts and people will still buy it, because of its name.

Apple - status symbol because "we know you'll buy it no matter what we say just to be like the average tech consumer"

WE ANDROID faithful aren't the average tech consumer and Verizon knows that theres a majority out there that will likely buy the Fruit because everyone has to have one because there friends and there dog all have it.

Same was said for the for the Xbox 360 Kinect, once Oprah said "you gotta buy this" the sales went through the roof and still do because its a popular product just because, not because it is a good product, (i'm an extreme hardcore 360 fan and I don't even want one)

I guess that was a bad example but you can get the gist of my theory/speculation/Apple world domination plan blah blah blah and more blah blah etc

You don't have to believe it nor do I expect anyone to but alot of it makes sense and I know how Apple turns business's into "bend over backwards" pawns.

#Winning for me regardless if the Tbolt comes out in time or not since i have a backup plan, and one that doesn't involve bowing to Verizon and there in bed with Apple attitude.

bennnnn have you heard about this?

I'm still here, just pretty swamped with work so I'll try to answer questions tomorrow.

I never said there was an announcement tomorrow, and frankly, I don't expect one till next week.

I got to play with a Thunderbolt for a couple minutes at work today. Let me tell you, this thing is as beautiful as it is fast.

They aren't tweeting or announcing a release date on FB since they seem to be playing this one a week at a time.

By announcing a release date on Twitter or FB, they would be "locked in"... but by not saying anything, it gives them the flexibility to push things back and work bugs out - which is what we have been seeing unfold since Feb 14... and again on the 24th and the 28th... and again on March 10th. They aren't playing games for the sole purpose of torturing you. There's a legitimate reason behind all this.

That being said, you as the consumer have the option of #winning!! by NOT to buy their product if they piss you off enough. But if you wanna buy their gear, you play by their rules and timelines.

Frustrating? Yes. But I can totally understand why they are doing it this way

No, the story was that they can not schedule an announcement saying it will be released on the 17th because they are to busy with the Ipad2.

If they don't have a firm release date, that is another story.

The implication was that they simply couldn't make time for the announcement due to the IPad2.
