That's not a problem! Nothing has been a guarantee with this phone except that it exists and will be sold by VZW!

One thing you never mentioned ever is the cause of the delay. If it is not the battery, if it is not anything MAJOR, then what?

My guess would be, the announcement could come a few days after iPad 2 launches, like the following monday

and I was leaning towards the possibility of them having 3G only until the LTE issues were fixed so they didn't have to continually delay the handset.
and just lock the 4G on the handset until its ready, and re-enable the 4G via a system OTA.

even if its hacked, it took quite a while for the devs at XDA to get Wimax working on the EVO on custom roms. lets not forget about the ThunderBolt having a SIM card. Verizon can easily lock out all handsets by blocking ESN ID's so even if there hacked they wouldn't be able to connect until the network is ready.

if its past that, Verizon will be shooting themselves in the foot with CTIA the following Tuesday where even more HTC handsets will be announced.

If my memory serves me correct. Someone posted a week ago the Verizon usually makes major announcment on Tuesdays. So if we are still in line for a release date of the 17th we wont hear anything until the 15th. Plus with launch of the ipad2 on Friday will hold it back.
