I think I've figured out the code in the username "Bennnnn"
A=1, B=2, C=3, D=4, E=5, etc...

B=2012 and E=5 or May and 5 N's would be the fith. Thunderbolt release date is May 5, 2012. Bennnnn, am I correct?

I'm a beer-drinker in the Boston area and I've never even heard of that brew, much less seen it, lol. I Googled it to confirm it's existence though, ha ha. Apparently, it's a rare, specialty brew that's only available on tap, which explains why I've never seen it, as I don't go out to bars very often.

On topic (kind of), how much do you think I'd have to slip a VZW employee to get them to move my NE2 upgrade date up, so I can get the TB upon release? $50? $100? :p

Just an FYI....it is Exceptional...taste, smell, gravity, smoothness, first taste, after taste....VERY GOOD.

I won't be disappointed.

If no Thunderbolt, getting a Droid Incredible.
If data is greater than $45, getting Droid Incredible.

All set.

I wish I could settle for that one. I would if it had a 4.3" screen. I want the larger screen and HTC Sense so I just have to wait.

This TB delay is going to seem like a happy dream when the new 4G tiered data plans come out.

yeah. its starting to scare me. the stubborn side of me says "you've waited for this phone for 2 months- hang in there!" the logical side of me says "crappy battery life, limited 4g service, expensive 4g data plan, all for a phone that has the same processor as the incredible with a front camera and 256 more mb of ram"... sigh. I'm afraid I'm jumping ship, folks.

Yeah, if they do come out with tiered data plan for 4G I will have to carefully weigh the pros and cons of a 4G phone and do some number crunching to see if it will be viable for my every day use data consumption/cost wise. The last thing I would want is to get trapped into 4G and not be able to use the phone the way I want ... the way it was intended because of cost... do you hear me Bennnn?? :)

So the only way this phone will work is if it has the 4G sim card?

Yes from what i understand. There is another thread on a different forum where a user has a phone and is testing it. He said he had to wait to get it because the verizon rep needed to get him the sim card - and he is in a 3g only part of the country.
[EDIT] Also when asked specifically about needing the SIM card for 3g he said "yes"

What the deuce? It doesn't have the same processor as the Incredible. It has the 2nd gen Snapdragon. But its also possible that when the Tbolt launches 4g will be unlimited and then maybe grandfathered into the tiered data plans.

who is this BMX dude and how can i follow what he post? i'm guessing by the bits and pieces i read about him, he is on twitter and not here. correct?

I saw that thread but I didn't see that particular post...CRAPTASTIC

The point was not the method, it was the logic. Faster speeds chew through data much faster (duh). Netflix, Google Cloud services, etc. are great, but they'll be burning data faster than we're used to. Capped data is going to be a major problem with LTE, even for normal users.

One thing to consider though... is that Verizon could offer unlimited Netflix data for a small additional fee. Just like they're planning to do with the Slingbox:

Sling Media Announces Subscription Offering for Verizon Wireless... -- LAS VEGAS and BASKING RIDGE, N.J., Jan. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --

You'll "rent" the hardware from Sling and then it'll stream to your 4G device but it won't count against your "normal" data usage.

Cloud based music would be the same. That won't be free. You'll have to pay for it (which would include the music and streaming).

So, for you non-tetherers... 5GB's will go a lot farther.

First off, we don't know FOR CERTAIN there was battery issues. Second, if they fixed it, it doesn't mean the battery will still suck. A fix/ patch can do amazing things to hardware/software. Also, read reports from yesterday regarding the new Samsung LTE phone and it's battery life. LTE doesn't appear to gobble down batteries like everyone is assuming, based on that report anyway.

We also know nothing about the LTE data plans, officially.

And since when is the Qualcomm QSD8650 that was made available to HTC in late 2008 then same CPU as the MSM8655 that was available to HTC Q2 2010 !? Again, this is NOT the Evo or Inc's CPU/GPU.

But hey, what do I know right? Jump ship if you want. Regret it ? Maybe.

snapdragon, 2nd gen snapdragon- tomatO, tomAto- both are single core and i don't see there being a WOW factor difference between the two.

i think the grandfathering into unlimited data plans is what this is all about- especially since B5n's latest posts have been all about policies and "how they could change"...

That's all fine and dandy. If I want to use it, I'll drop my netflix plan down a tier (netflix loses) or just skip it on my TB (I have an iPod touch that has streaming netflix and I never use it).

According to Bennnnn (if YOU believe he is who he says he is) there was in fact a battery issue but it has been fixed.
