I think you might be right, I still think they won't decide until they have a MOBILE test market to figure out the avg use on LTE would bring, meaning the inclusion of using NETFLIX and other cloud related services.
It would make sense to have these on there first LTE device to test out how much the avg user would use in a month, then base there pricing structure off those facts.
I personally use maybe a little over 1GB a month on my Incredible, and I stream Sirius and my home PC music with AudioGalaxy nearly every day i'm at work. I would be fine with a 5GB cap i guess, but unless they offer something along the lines of unlimited Video streaming access for an extra $5 or something, it would be pointless to even have tiered access if there touting ThunderBolt as a multimedia device, and again, would make the surround sound speaker and kickstand pointless if you can't have unlimited video streaming even with that cap set up.
Everything that I read states that your usage goes up drastically with 4G. This plan might not cover it. People may be in for a shock when they get thier bill and see how much that they have used and owe.

That is really what is going on here. The original launch was in fact March 17th, but rumors spread about early release and that's why we are all losing our heads. Verizon tried to be slick early on and "leak" an earlier date, but the network, issues with software/battery, held it up. So, it really was never delayed, some PR stunt went horribly wrong. Now if you add what I just said and include apple into the mix (iphone/ipad 2), then that's where the hysteria all stems from.
I know Verizon is ultimately to blame for the early release leaks, but I myself and I myself alone feel this was a case of Verizon bending over and taking it in the you know what from crapple.
Why? Why would a powerhouse like Verizon act like an alter boy being taken advantage of by a higher power you ask? I think the answer is simple even though it's hard to believe. AN S LOAD OF $$$$$$. Money is why we are where we are today with this phone. Now, I'm not saying the "network" had nothing to do with it, but it was apple who may have scared Verizon into beefing up their 3G network for the iphone launch. So.........the next generation network we like to call 4G LTE was put on hold...................for money. I know it sounds like some conspiracy theory I drummed up, but I truly believe there is truth to what I am saying above.
Now I love the verizon network. I have been a verizon customer for 10+ years, since the Bell Atlantic Mobile days so I am not bashing there technology. I am, however, questioning their integrity.
And I give props to Bennnnn for cluing us in on some of the whispers and trying to put all our minds to rest. I also give props to BMX for telling it like it is. It was BMX after all who let us in on the March 17th date back in January.

15 gigs a month? That is alot in my opinion. I'm a heavy internet radio listener, I constantly surf the net and I watch tons of Youtube videos on my phone. I'm usually around 3 gigs a month.
I believe someone posted this one yesterday about 100 pages ago. LTE so fast you can go through your data limite in 30 minute.

I for one have only been using 2GB on average with 3G. I don't see 15GB in my future. I don't use Skype much, I don't stream movies from my phone, but once in a while (Use my laptop for that), and I don't really listen to internet radio except for podcasts and mowing the lawn. I don't see it. 3GB would be good for me I think.

You can't really compare the data card usage to cell usage. For those with the cards, it isn't hard to believe that people use that much since since it's significantly faster than 3G leading people to do more video streaming (netflix), downloading, etc.
How can you say that March 17th was their original release date when they said that it'd launch "mid-february" in a press release?
I think that might be because the LTE devices out right now are laptop modems that are mostly being used by corporate users while on business trips. I doubt most cell phone users will come close to using that amount of data.
I am usually in that range too. Granted these are for air cards too, but phone data usage will probably jump too. The phone and network are capable of blowing your cap in 44 minute @ 5 gigs
I think people are in for a rude awakening if they think they are going to stream netflix and such @ 4G and not pay the price.
What press release. At CES, when asked when to expect LTE devices, they said "as early as march".
They didn't say that in a press release. The only thing that Verizon said in a press release was at CES when discussing the newly introduced LTE devices ... "Verizon expects these consumer-oriented devices to be available by mid-2011, with some available as early as March 2011.".

I think if i do exactly what i am doing now, but on LTE i will see the same data volume (just faster). One caveat, moving from blackberry which compresses data to android will lead to higher data rates for the same data (email etc.) If i start to do things i don't do now like skype stream netflix etc. then my data consumption will go up. I think these folks using 15 GB per mo. have cut off their broadband and are tethering their PC's etc. etc. Or maybe they just keep showing their friends how fast they can download a 1GB movie

If I didn't use my home internet and just tethered I'd be WAYYYY over 15GB, we're talking 1TB+
Time to stir the pot....facebook wall has TWO people that say they picked up a TBolt from their VZW store today...not ppl I've ever seen troll the VZW fbook page before....
